Iran vowed on Tuesday to take revenge on Israel for an airstrike that killed two of its top generals and five other military advisers at the Iranian embassy compound in Damascus, underlining the risk of further escalation after the unprecedented attack.

Conflict has rippled across the Middle East since the onset of the Gaza war; until now, Tehran has carefully avoided direct conflict with ISRAEL while backing allies attacking ISRAELI and U.S. targets.

Israel has not declared responsibility for the attack which destroyed a consular building adjacent to the main embassy building in the upscale Mezzeh district of Damascus on Monday night, killing seven members of Iran's Revolutionary Guards.

But a senior Israeli government official, speaking to Reuters on condition of anonymity, said those hit had "been behind many attacks on Israeli and American assets and had plans for additional attacks".

The President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi:
"The ISRAELI aggression against our consulate in Damascus will not go unanswered."

The supreme leader of Iran, Ali Khamenei:

"The evil Zionist entity will receive its punishment and we will make them regret the crime they committed."

Syrians say: Thank you, ISRAELI

Many Syrians are celebrating yesterday's air strike on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus that killed several senior Iranian military officials.

At local markets, the date "2024/4/1" is being celebrated with special sales.

On social media, Syrians and Arabs in other parts of the Middle East are going so far as to THANK ISRAEL!

One wrote:

"With all due respect to the Palestinians, as a Syrian who opposes Assad, I cannot contain my feelings. Thank you, Israel! Bless you for attacking the Iranian embassy in Damascus. You did what no one else dared to do."

Another referred to Israel as the "antidote" to the Iranian "poison."

Iran keeps barking and making Noises despite all their moves and actions to wipe out the apple of God's eye which is impossible.

Iran has one of the most lovely people on earth but very terroristic inclined leaders whose sworn life ambition is to wipe out ISRAEL from the face of earth which cannot happen.
