THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has won the eight local government chairmanship positions in the Saturday council polls in Bayelsa State.

It also won all the legislative seats in the 105 wards across the state.

The main opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC, and Labour Party, LP shunned the exercise, which was conducted by the Bayelsa State Independent Electoral Commission, BYSIEC.

It[b] was the first local government elections to be held under the Senator Douye Diri-led administration.[/b]

Announcing the result in Ogbia Local Government Area, the Returning Officer, Dr. Godric Deinduomo, declared Golden Jeremiah of PDP winner after polling a total of 42,462 votes.

In Southern Ijaw LGA, the Returning Officer, Dr. Ebi Udisi, declared Target Segibo of PDP, a pioneer member of the state House of Assembly winner of the election after he polled a total of 36,326 votes.

In Ekeremor LGA, Onniye Isaac of the PDP, also a pioneer member of the state House of Assembly, polled a total of 35,177 votes and was declared winner of the election by the Returning Officer, Prof. Joseph Omoro, while Sagbama Local Government Area, Mrs. Alice Tangi of PDP polled a total of 51,543 votes to win the contest.

In Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area, Leilei Tariye of PDP was declared winner after polling a total of 27,823 votes, while Bulodisiye Ndiwari was declared as the Mayor of Yenagoa LGA by the returning officer, Chief Wisdom Soreh, after polling 56,103.

In Nembe council, David Alagoa of PDP scored 11,829 votes and was declared winner while Lucky Febo also of PDP was declared winner for Brass LGA, with 35,709 votes.

Pdp always behaving foolish.are they now saying people voted in this lga polls more than the last bayelsa guber polls? How can pdp clear the entire councillorship posts without lp or apga winning even one? Pdp should rig with sense like APC

Look at what governors are doing because LG elections are conducted by states INEC. This is to show you what is coming with state police. I bet in three months of existence, Nigerians will beg for the scrapping of state police by time governors extensively abuse it.

Hopefully local government elections can be handled by INEC rather than the respective states.

With the ruling parties in charge of the state’s respective electoral boards, there is no way they can be defeated. Other parties generally let them manage their elections, where they end up planting their men who should hold forte for the governors and their parties.

1 party will rule a state for 25 years, with nothing to show for it? Including having the president of The Republic for 6 years, coming from that same state & party.

OGA no election, public holiday was declared, I didn't see anything like voting, throughout the state, I was wondering if it was even primaries, Omo these country eh

All this figures are doctored, so long as I know, nobody voted, the whole town was looking normal. All the polling centres I know there nothing there. Seeing the figures the whole things sounds funny to me.

Can you point to one thing this state has achieved under PDP ? The same state produced a President under the same PDP, yet nothing to show for it.

Bayelsa State, a very tiny state with only 8 local governments, the smallest in Nigeria, is one of the WORST states in Nigeria, with respect to Human Development Index (HDI), despite being given 13% derivation allocation, FAAC allocation, Amnesty Programme, NDDC projects, South South Foreign Scholarships, etc, etc!

When you talk about how backward that state is, clowns start blaming other people (from different political parties and other parts of Nigeria!)....

I got the reports of what actually happened during this Bayelsa LG-Polls..

There were no proper Accreditations.
They just did what they liked,, and wasted lots of money.
