There's too many illogical processes in Nigeria. The federal government should not hold state law offenders but they do currently. This is one reason why prisons were moved to the concurrent list. Most inmates are state law offenders currently.

The state governors shouldn't be burdened with signing a death warrant for federal law offenders. That burden should naturally be the presidents headache or some other federal employee. If death sentences for drug dealers become law, then these guys will get life in prisons essentially. The National assembly should rush to take death warrant out the governors hands as soon as possible.

PS: If this information isn't accurate please correct me.

Nigeria needs to really think about federalism. Stop mixing, responsibilities of the state and federal government. The states will just end cost the federal government money. The executives of the state are too weak for this responsibility 😑. The governor talk about it but they dont follow through.
