[size=14pt]Kaduna ACN Dissociates Self From Solidarity for Tinubu[/size]

Kaduna — The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Kaduna State chapter, yesterday dissociated itself from all the statements and actions credited to the party's leaders expressing or suggesting 'premature' solidarity for former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu, on his current travails at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

A statement by the chairman of the Kaduna chapter of the party, Malam Mohammed Musa Soba called on Tinubu to step forward and clear his name and urged the party's leaders across the country to stop wasting public funds on solidarity jamboree.

The Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting in Abuja has been prosecuting the former Lagos governor over alleged possession of 16 foreign bank accounts in the United Kingdom in his name and in the name of his wife and children while in office as governor.

The ACN statement said as a party that prides itself in prudence and accountability in the management of public funds, it has a moral obligation to Nigerians to explain the truth.

The statement reads in part: "The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has a moral burden and an obligation to Nigerians to explain the truth or otherwise of the allegations levelled against our national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the Code of Conduct Bureau that he illegally operated 16 foreign bank accounts while in office as the governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007.

"The argument by Tinubu at this stage on the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal is counterproductive and diversionary because a politician of Tinubu's calibre does not need to hide under mere legal technicalities as sufficient proof of his innocence against weighty allegations of criminal wrong doing in the management of public funds.

"We have observed with consternation the attempts by certain figures within the ACN to trivialize the trial and make it look like a show of comedy in an attempt to create sympathy for Tinubu and blackmail the nation's entire judicial system.

"The ACN should not be seen to be very critical of corruption that has become the trademark of PDP's administrations at all levels while at the same time condoning same and shielding its own from prosecution in the face of apparent need for explanation. Doing so would amount to a double standard and unforgivable game of perfidy and political deception by a political party that claims to be the solution to PDP's misrule.

"Consequently, we advice Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to submit himself to the jurisdiction of the Code of Conduct Tribunal and clear his name of all allegations levelled against him if he wants to continue to answer his name as the national leader of the ACN and save the party from further embarrassment and ridicule, instead of playing to the gallery and exposing the party as an abode of graft and ideological inconsistency.

He is expected to say so as a member of another political party. Why should what he said be erased? Not everybody is a hypocrite; it would be crazy for anyone to deny that there is corruption in any political party, including the PDP.
It is only hypocrites that point fingers solely at the PDP, when corruption is everywhere and not something limited by ethnicity, region, political party or religion; it is a Nigerian problem that we best be truthful about, because that is the only way we will develop the necessary groundswell to slay the beast.

Tinubu not only stole billions from Lagos state but he continues to siphon more money out through 3rd party service companies he floated here and there.  Allegedly, Gbenga Daniel[another possible crook by the way] defied Tinubu when he refused to award Ogun contracts to Tinubu owned companies and Tinubu swore to kill him.
