Imo proposes N190b for four-year rolling plan

GOVERNOR Rochas Okorocha has sent a four-year rolling plan budget of N190 billion to the Imo State House of Assembly for approval.

The proposal sent to the Assembly on Tuesday and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Anthony Anwuka, states that the State Executive Council had met and approved the figure to provide some essential services to Imo people within the period.

According to the proposal read by the Speaker of the Assembly, Benjamin Uwajimogu, the budget would have roads gulping N45 billion, another 15-kilometre road project in each of the 27 local councils to cost N35 billion, construction of 10 industries at the cost of N15 billion, construction of new gate fitting (N15 billion), monumental (N29 billion), building of befitting hospitals in each of the local councils in the state (N15 billion, and construction of model primary school blocks in each of the 305 wards and 100 secondary schools blocks in the state at the cost of N20 billion.

Also included in the proposal is the building of the permanent site of the Imo State University, Owerri, within the period at the cost of N15 billion while N10 billion is voted for the Government House.

Uwajimogu constituted a joint legislative/executive committee to handle the proposal. Membership comprises the House Committee Chairman on Budget and Appropriation, Eudora Igwe, as the chairman. Other members are Stan Dara, Simeon Iwunze, Ikenna Eme, Ngozi Pat-Ekeji and Samuel Anyanwu. Members from the executive arm of government are the Commissioner for Finance, Chike John Okafor, Permanent Secretary, Poverty Alleviation, Obinna Ufomadu and Economic Adviser to the governor, Nick Opara-Ndudu.

Dan iska, do u have a tin for Okorocha abi na Imo b ur problem? And not frm dat area but that guy is one of d few performing govs in Nigeria today. Search for his achievements in 100days and compare them with Aregbesola's 1 yr achievements then u come back here. lipsrsealed
