The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has warned that another attack on any church in the country by Boko Haram may be dangerous for Nigeria.

In a message titled, ‘The Cost of Riding on the Waves of Glory’, at the first Sunday service of the year at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, Oyedepo said he would personally lead the battle if any other church was attacked by the Islamic group.

According to him, 2012 will be a decisive year for the country, adding that resolving the Boko Haram issue will determine the future of Nigeria.

He said, “What makes the North different from the South? Who makes Nigeria the inheritance of any part of the nation?

“Every time a non-northerner is in power, they always make the nation ungovernable.”

He wondered why Nigeria should be held to ransom over the alleged killing of the leader of the Boko Haram when Christian leaders were being killed in parts of the country.

He said, “They said their leader was killed and they are making a noise. Last week a pastor was killed with his son. How can a nation be held to ransom because of a murderer? It is mischievous madness to think of islamising Nigeria. It is irrecoverable madness for anyone to think or imagine it.

“2012 is a decisive year for this nation. Whether it remains as one or it is divided will depend on how the issue of Boko Haram is tackled.”

He said the congregation should not be confused about the calamity facing the world, saying it was part of God’s agenda to distinguish the church.
