FUEL SUBSIDY REMOVAL; FROM SOUR TO SWEET

Some Nigerians still needs to be properly informed on the good intentions of the Federal Government on the removal of the fuel subsidy. Nigeria gives one quarter of the yearly budget to few individuals who have subjected the country on perpetual importation of fuel so as to reduce the price.

This means that as long as the subsidy is given to them they cannot refine fuel in Nigeria. The so called fuel importers may chose to build refinery in another country such as Niger Republic near our boarder so as to collect the subsidy money from government when they import to Nigeria.

They have chosen to enslave the country in an endless fuel importation making it impossible for any investor to even think of building a refinery in Nigeria since such investor will not be given subsidy if he refines in Nigeria. Indirectly we are perpetually economically enslaved by these oil cabal who siphon our yearly budget on the pretence of fuel importation.

Now that the fuel subsidy is removed by Goodluck led government in Nigeria, there will be temporal hardship which those grieved cabal push Nigerians to by selling the fuel at open market price so as to make gain enough since we cannot produce at the interim. This administration is aware of this hardship and must urgently channel the money gotten from the subsidy removal to building refineries, sourcing for fuel by NNPC for domestic use in Nigeria, encourage private sectors to build refineries since importation cannot be subsidized any more, advice and empower governors to purchase government buses in joint venture with the private sector for good management since so many government owned transport schemes use to fail due to corruption.

The fuel subsidy removal is good news to Nigerians who hope on long term investment and infrastructural development in Nigeria instead of short term cheap fuel while we remain in perpetual importation of fuel with about half of our yearly budget which is tantamount to economic slavery for both yet unborn generations of Nigerians.

Caution should be taken by Nigerians to monitor the use of this huge money by government to ensure proper utilization in the nearest possible future so that the suffering of Nigerians will not last longer. Any body calling for mass action is being politically and socially misguided by ignorance or by political opponents of the present administration who capitalizes on any opportunity to run down the Goodluck led Government. I am not a politician, not a spokes person for the government but I believe in Nigeria and the transformation project of this government. HAPPY NEW YEAR, God bless Nigeria
