The protest staged by Christian youths on Saturday in Jimeta, Adamawa State protesting the killing of Christians and the attacks on churches was partly responsible for the government’s declaration of a 24 hour curfew as a means of avoiding total breakdown of law and order.

Soldiers in the state shot two youths, one in the stomach and the other in the leg, and they were rushed to a hospital for urgent medical attention. The shootings compounded the situation in the state.

The youths were said to have been protesting the killing of 20 Igbo in Mubi and as well yesterday’s killing of about 14 persons in a CAC Church in Jimeta. Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for that attack.

One of those killed was said to be the son of one Pastor Gabriel, who had earlier been killed in one of the outbreaks of violence in Jos, Plateau State.

Security agencies under the directive of Adamawa State government stopped all attempts to get photographs of the corpses, fearing that if any pictures got out, it would aggravate tension in the state.

The Deputy Governor, Barr. Bala James Nggilari, visited the mortuary along with the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev.Moses Tafarki, who played a prominent role in dousing tension by pleading with the irate youths.

In the events in Adamawa , there were attacks in Mubi, Jimeta and Yola, the state capital.

With all the killings so far,are there still igbo people and Christians left in the north?
Its really becoming annoying,we are still talking of boko naram, now soldiers have joined in the killings, later some people will say "we are one" ngwanu until all the christians in the north are dead that's when people will realize there's really nothing like one nigeria. Rubbish.

This is what we should be protesting all over Nigeria. Not fuel increase. Nigeria has to be intact before peoplecan hope to enjoy free fuel

^^^^ According to some people, fuel is far more important than lives.

That fuel affects everything, why do people think its just the fuel? Though life is far more important.

The muslims involved in these killings are not foreigners, they are your fellow nigerians who live in thesame neigbourhood where these churches/christians are located. The northern muslims know these people but they simply refuse to give them up to security agencies.these killers are muslims who pray in thesame mosques with their fellow muslims.the northern muslims are just evil, they actually jubilate and celebrate amongst themselves at the news of these killings in northern nigeria.

@chima12
Yes, the incidence in jimeta was politically motivated because the current governor
Has not paid salary for months and he knows he's going to lose this Saturday, so I believe his supporters
Wanted to intimidate opposition party supporters.

However, their is peace and great harmony btw Moslems and Christian in Yola, I know of that b/cos I'm frm
& I'll leaving with a client of mine who is a Moslem with lots of Christian working for him close to govt house
And their is no
