the problem of revenue in nigeria is not availability but management. when money is budgeted for a specific purpose, usually a commitee or agency is setup to oversee the process. rather than use the revenue for its intended purpose, the commitee members use it to enrich themselves and their associates hence leaving little or no revenue for the original intent of that revenue. this was and still is the case with desopadec and other opadecs. removing fuel subsidy will surely generate revenue but the generated revenue will be more useful in raising a new cream of elites and corrupt people than it will be in improving the standard of living of the common nigerian. my stand is subsidy removal is not what the president needs to develop nigeria; he needs to fight corruption as that alone can generate more revenue than fuel subsidy removal.
