We are like the Israelite s and Moses leaving Egypt to the promised land. On their way towards
the promised land they were confronted with "The Red Sea in their front and The Egyptian Army
at their back" They Screamed Moses why did you bring us out to die like this. We told you to leave us
to serve the Egyptians and Live than to be drowned, we and our Children.
This is exactly the situation confronting us Nigerians. Is it better to feed a few Nigerians consistently
in the name of #65 Fuel subsidy and slow down our progress for eternity or to remove subsidy suffer
for a while and enjoy for life as long as Jesus Tarry through provision of AMENITIES as the Government
What did Moses answer the Israelite s, He said , "Move on for the Egyptians You see today, you shall see
them no more, " And what happened as they listened to Moses, their , they marched on ,crossed the
red sea on dry land and in their face, the Egyptian Army pursuing them all got drowned in their face.
What am I telling my fellow Nigerians, the hunger , the starvation, the high price we are facing today will
last for just a moment if we listen to our Dear President who stand as our Moses in this dispensation.
Let us not resort to this cursing because A curse without cause shall never have effect rather it will return to
the one who evoke it. We have been praying asking for good governance for over 30 years and this year
2012 God Answered our prayers and here we are thinking otherwise being distracted by little pain.
Suppose Mr president reverse to #65 and at the same time leaving his expenses untouched and relax , while
pushing the Economy in its slow pace as it has shown what do we gain from there? So we need really to be
objective in our assessment of this existing Government. Let us Get moving for that's what we need most now , having shown our grievances. Insisting on going back to #65 having known the implication and its down side is suicidal
as far as Nigeria as a Nation is concerned. Let us be Wise and act Wisely,

Foolish BEJ. Just because they say he is weak, he is trying to flex his muscles to prove us wrong.
Even Abacha the tyrant backed down when the people protested. Further proof of BEJ's weakness

WE ALL KNOW HOW THE SYSTEM WORKS THE GOVT CAN NOT BE TRUSTED WE LL ALL SUPPORT REMOVAL IF;
1 THEY CAN TELL US WHAT DEY HAVE DOME WITH THE MONEY SAVED FROM REMOVAL OF SUBSIDY ON DIESEL YEARS BACK
2 NIGERIA REFINERY OPERATES @ 30% CAPACITY WHERE DOES THAT GO I KNOW ITS A LIL LESS THAN WHAT WE NEED IN 9JA LET THEM SUPPY THAT TO US IN 9JA AND SUBSIDIZE THE LITTLE NEEDED TO MAKE UP THE CONSUMPTION AND DEY WONT NEED TO SPEND THAT MUCH ON SUBSIDY BUT THE ONE REFINED IN 9JA IS BEING EXPORTED AND SOLD AT HIGHER PRICE TO NEIGHBORING COUNTRY AND WE IMPORT 100%
3 WHY ARE DEY SPENDING SO MUCH ON "TAM" TAM MAINTAINS THE REFINERY YEARLY AT A COST THAT IS ENOUGH TO BUILD A REFINERY SO WE CANT TRUST THIS GOVT ON THEIR EMPTY LIES
AND MIND U ITS NOT ONLY ABOUT THE SUBSIDY REMOVAL IT ABOUT BAD GOVERNANCE NIGERIAN MASSES JUST GOT TO THE PEAK AND THERES ALWAYS SMTH THAT STARTS IT ALL UP

No one is saying fuel subsidy should stay forever. If it must go, let it be a gradual removal, say, 10% a year, so as to reduce its effect on the common man.

These hard stance f®om FG and NLC will not help anybody.
Let watch this thing b4 it get out of hand o
I expect FG to listen to voice of reason except the Govnors almost every other group seems to be against this.
Why not remove it today restrategize and re introduce the thing later in the year after serious consultations
This heating the polity will not help anybody

Abacha and co bowed to NLC and the Nigerian people because they had no mandate from the people ab inition. We voted for GEJ. We gave him our mandate. so why should he bow to a mere labour union/opposition party members(like bakare) who the people rejected.

The remuneration of the members of Nigerias legislative arm of Government is one of the most discussed topics in the country. It is believed in most parts of Nigeria that the jumbo pay is one of the main attractions of political office as opposed to the willingness to serve in other places. It is also believed in some quarters that the financial gains of political office is the main reason for which many politicians will do anything to perpetuate themselves in office, even if it would cost some people their lives. Below is a breakdown of what each of the 109 Senators take home:
What a Senator Earns In Nigeria N29, 479,749. 00 Per Quarter (4 times a Year).
Basic Salary N2, 484, 245.50.
Hardship Allowance @ 50% of Basic Salary N1, 242,122.70
Constituency allowance @ 200% of BS N4, 968,509.00
Furniture Allowance @ 300% of BS N7, 452,736.50
Newspaper allowance @ 50% N1, 242,122.70
Wardrobe allowance @ 25% N621, 061.37
Recess Allowance@ 10%: N248, 424.55
Accommodation @ 200% N4, 968,509.00.
Utilities @ 30% N828, 081.83.
Domestic Staff @ 35% N863, 184.12.
Entertainment @ 30% N828, 081.83.
Personal Assistance @ 25% N621, 061.37.
Vehicle Maintenance Allowance @ 75% N1, 863,184.12.
Leave Allowance @10% N248, 424.55. One off payments (As advised by Sagamite
Severance Gratuity) @ 300% N7, 452,736.50 (Once they get fired.)
Motor Vehicle Allowance @ 400% of BS N9, 936,982.00 -
Every Four Years Senators Salary per month. N2, 456,647.70
Total = N29, 479, 749.00 * 109 Senators Grand Total = N 3,264,329,264. 10
The Salary of the President of the United States has however been put at $250,000/yr while the GDP U.S. Economy: $13Trillion/ yr.
The allowance of each Nigerian Senator amounts to $1,500,000/yr which is even far more than what accrues to the American President. The GDP of the country on the other hand amounts to $45 Billion/yr.
This has been described as nothing but a feeding frenzy and an open looting of Nigeria because it is happening in a country where Doctors, teachers, civil servants cannot boast of N1m a year

Cypost:While I agree that the FG is maintaining a hard stance. The NLC/TUC share a greater proportion of the blame. How can a labour union tell an elected president to reverse himself otherwise no discussion. That is enough to make any president to ignore you. During military regimes, it might to okay to issue such orders during strikes because thats the language they understand and they had nobody's mandate but you don't do that to an elected president. The same people that are insisting that the FG must reverse are ignoring a court order and the part of the Reps motion urging them to call off the strike, yet they want the president to obey their order. Anyway, when two elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers

We have been hearing that preaching for years now. And do not compare Moses to any Nigerian politician( all dubious and lack integrity). It is unfair to God. Moses must be rolling in his grave for that comparison.
Now, let us do some math. Crude oil is set $75 benchmark on budget by the government. For the past 4years, a barrel of crude has been in the average of $100 or perhaps more. What happened to the $25 surplus?
Nigeria exports a little above 2 million barrels a day. Calculate 2million * $25(surplus) * 30days * 12 months * = About $1.5 billion naira a year surplus. Not to talk of other domestic revenues the government gets. In addition to that, Nigeria officially earns( $75) more than $USD60 billion a year from crude alone and does budget of about $30billions a year. What happens to the other $30 billion dollars?
President Goodluck earmarked 1 billion for food. what is he eating? Him and his family get unique belle? Cmon, if he serious of fundamentally turning the economy around, let him start with the fundamentals. He can as well start with himself, friends and political cronies.
Give Nigerians a break for Christ sake. We have suffered so much.

norrisman:Do you think elections are won by being a noisy minority? How many voters do we have in Nigeria? how many people are protesting? Reminds me of all the noise gays used to make in the UK. however when a census was done, it turned out with all the noise making, they are less than 5% of the population. If you bring GEJ and Buhari/Bakare to contest against each other even tonight , GEJ would still win!

you sure don't know what negotiation is all about. You start from the extremes to get best from both sides. Both parties know that they would end up at negotiation table from start. Moreover, people makes govt. Even military have some power derivation from peoples acceptance.
OP: I never expected FGN to go back to N65, they wont, but the uprising should send signal to govt that people are watching. It should not fail.
