Pro-active Leadership In the past week, the nation has been roused from the stupor of the potently uninspiring misrule of successive administration, patently lazy leaders whose inability to project success had stunted development and financial empowerment.

The Present administration of GEJ in removing the fuel subsidies has laid a strong foundation for the emergence of a strong economy by investing in a sustainable future via infrastructure development to increase the pace of development initiated/set by present regime.

however, the twin menace of boko haram and nlc/protest are collaborating to encourage a laid back, lacklustre and slow economic activity to derail the train.

If GEJ do not deem it fit to stay on course, no matter the challenge NLC/Protesters and Boko Haram alike, then more disruptive groups will rise becos he would have conformed to the image that he really do lack the magic that the nation needs and the whole world expects.

It seems after all the talk, shouting, teaching, lecture, protest, educating, directing, etc people are doing, some people still don't know why people are angry

1. Yes the system/ government is corrupt. In fact the country is teeming in corruption

2. Yes subsidy has to go and everyone supports the FG for that

3. Before the removal of subsidy, build our refinery so we would not have this same issue in the future. If we have our refineries working, we would not be paying subsidy to anyone and we can control the prices of our crude oil as a Nation.

4. Before removal of subsidy , CUT THE COST OF GOVERANCE not just by 25% because the bulk of the money made in government is not through salaries but be over PRICED projects. An average senator in Nigeria collects more than Obama the american president.

5. Now remove subsidy.

Other things people are protesting for because it was a build up of anger since 1970 and this was the opportunity for a revolution are

1. protest against corruption and the arrest of these people

2. protest against boko haram and killing of Christians/igbos

3. protest against the NEGLIGENT of the Niger-delta

4. Building of the Niger Bridge. Must the bridge collapse before we maintain and build the next ? Since we can save lives, why not do it now.

Now what is the point of thinking ahead when there is still corruption and non-accountability in the government ?

What is the point of thinking ahead when the next administration would tell us about removal of subsidy again ?

IS THINKING AHEAD NOT BUILDING OF REFINERIES ?

Is thinking ahead not protesting against corruption ?

In Nigeria today, we have No light, No security, No shelter, No good roads, No good water, No refinery even though we are oil producing, Total neglect of infrastructure, Total neglect of the Niger-delta, Total neglect of the Niger bridge, Total neglect of people dying in the North, Lack of accountability, Lack of credibility, Lack of industrial growth apart from Oil which the entire country is dependant on, Lack of economic growth apart from the telecommunication sector by OBJ.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would also what to use this medium to address people thinking it is an ethnic thing.

I have heard various people saying the protest is against "GEJ" "minority" and other sentimental words to describe the protest.

I would like to educate the people about the politics behind what is happening according to my understanding and I would really appreciate if I can also learn more from other posters home and abroad.

In 2010, Sanusi made speech to the House of reps (HOR) that they were thieves and they are the ones sucking Nigeria dry due to the huge sum of money paid to them monthly. The HOR shut him down and called him all sort of names.

In 2011, Sanusi during the channels debate said 1.6 trillion naira is paid to this people out of 1.8 trillion naira thus 200 billion Naira is left for development of the country.

This people are the senator, governors, HOR, HOA, chairmen and the business men that were labelled as oil benefit thieves.

Now people Imagine 200 billion left for 150 million people in 36 states out of total of 1.8 trillion Naira. Yes I am sure people would agree with me that subsidy has to go !!!!

All am doing here is to make people political aware of the situation right now and lets not forget the Iweala and the IMF factor.

Now people are NOT and I repeat NOT angry at the removal of the subsidy I mean at such rate the paying of subsidy is not sustainable. It has to go at one point or the other, either through GEJ or the next administration. Yes I respect GEJ and Sanusi for thinking ahead of time. That is very commendable but the Issues that cause the subsidy corruption are not yet addressed.

In the future the issue would come up again so what is the point ?.

Bold Leadership: Nigeria needs a President that can defied his detractors and surprised his friends in equal terms by his principled stand on the issues he chose to support no matter whose ox is gored.

GEJ undoubtedly is a man on a mission to return the nation to greatness it deserves, but will only succeed and win the admiration of friends and foes alike, not just because he is moving with the agility of a man whose days
in power are truly numbered but who also realises that he has to preserve his legacy in trust for coming generations.

Nigeria needs a leader to possess the agility and sharp mindset to take tough decisions in the national interest. OBJ, YARDUA are fine examples, how many times did they publicly raced to one of the fathers of the nation to seek advice in the face of tough desisions?  Nigeria needs a leader that is his own man.

We can, but its not meant to be wasted on your kind, because:

1. you just don't have the brains
2. you tell lies like water
3. you are bigotted
4. you employ evil sentimental methods
5. and you are quite foolish

Nobody wants to waste a message on rocks and stones. Take your failure manfully and waka! angry

Nigeria needs Strong leadership Nigeria has attracted distinguished public servants in the current presidency, the likes of Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Olusegun Olutoyin Aganga, Madueke and their courage in the face of adversity and resistance of the old guard has only been made possible because the President has backed them with regard to subsidies removal.

There is no amount of cynical pretensions that can be projected to Nigerians at home or Diaspora that there wll be a continuance of the ground breaking wars on, indiscipline, corruption, illegal drug counterfeiters, sharp practices in the banking sector and national debt without a visibly strong leadership at the Presidency.

It will not come as a surprise to Nigerians that the citizens in Diaspora are generally better acquainted with the trends and drama unfolding because of advances in technology and a strong connection with the fatherland.

The leader needed must be strong to meet the various challenges of leading the millions of Nigerians who need positive and workable strategies to improve their quality of life, health, living standards, education, communication, food, security and transportation.

The Business Community needs a leader strong on initiatives to drive down inflation, push through efficiences through public private sector partnerships, and promote entrepreneurship and competition.

Nigeria really needs a Visionary Leadership

Nigerians waking up to the start of the incumbency of the present administration a year ago would be forgiven for thinking its business as usual. However, if you had recently won a reprieve from the goal, effectively emerged, from a period of horrific incarceration and miss-rule under a most corrupt, brutal and repressive regime, your outlook to life changes.

Things you'd have taken for granted are no longer insignificant. Opportunities to compromise are no longer so attractive, so much so that the President has set out his agenda from day one and no one has been under any illusions that he meant what he said.

From positioning the Oil Ministry via subsidies removal and deregulation under his direct control to attracting outstanding professionals like Mrs Okonjo-Iweala to resolve previously intractable problems, the President has consistently kept the big picture in view.

GEJ PDP has done very well to outline exactly what it envision for Nigeria in the next four years. We have seen GEJ interviewed on International television stations and the content of his PDP manifesto with provisions for adequate healthcare, power supply, promotion of good governance, sustainable development, creation of opportunities, poverty alleviation and financial empowerment of the whole citizenry of the Federal republic of Nigeria, creation of job opportunities.

It would be a disastrous mistake to assume that the bar of expectation is set so low. The ruling party should endeavour to self-censure to avoid a shock at the 2015 polls. Thousands of high-fliers all over the world wait eagerly with anticipation for the clarion call to return to throw in their lot with our brothers and sisters to restore the nation to its greatness. GEJ presidency has laid the foundation.

Everbody is entitled to their opinion but I beg to disagree on this one because the President evidently is committed to a better Nigeria for future generations.
