Wetin be the name of that prison wey OBJ build inside Atlantic Ocean?

They should send the policemen there to cool off. When their heads are back on their shoulders then we can transfer them to Otuoke (GEJ's hometown)

I guess someone must have organized that mob to cause that commotion in order to get this evil out of net, This BH things is really and actively affiliated with many powerful people in Nigeria. Because someone within the authority might have know the plan ahead and leak the plan. Nigerian police in other hand are stupid, how come they took a terrorist with a mere handcuff at the back a pickup and go and search, why not keep him in guard room and they go and search his houses and hideout without him follow undecided

meanwhile the inspector-general of police has spent the last 48 hours treathening innocent nigeria who just want to express themselves peacefully.
In civilized societies, he would simply resign. Anyway this is Nigeria ,a land where anything goes.

That FLIGHT LIEUTENANT he stayed with should be under survelliance. Infact Nigerian Airforce needs to be investigated. What if Boko Haram has members of the NAF in their organization? Imagine jet fighters doing their worst on some Nigerian cities. Who knows maybe the one you live.

A Commissioner of Police in zone 7 command headquarters of the Nigeria Police in Abuja, Zakari Biu has been suspended by the police authorities over his alleged complicity in the escape of the principal suspect in the Christmas day bombing of a Catholic church, Madalla near Abuja.

The prime suspect, Kabiru Sokoto was arrested last Friday January 13th at the Borno state governor’s lodge, Abuja by security operatives who later moved him to the zone 7 headquarters of the police where CP Zakari Biu was detailed to take charge of his detention and investigation.

It was learnt that Kabiru was taken in handcuffs to Abaji on the outskirt of Abuja on Sunday, where he is said to own a house, to allow police conduct a search but he escaped at about 5.30pm at Abaji. Police went on a pursuit, firing shots and in the process a stray bullet hit and killed a 28-year-old man named Awwal Inuwa Ashafa, who had an HND in Building Engineering from Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa.

A witness said trouble started in the area when policemen from Abuja city brought Kabiru Sokoto in a Toyota Hilux van. A gang of youths flagged down the vehicle as it was heading for the Ona of Abaji’s Palace, creating a chaos during which the suspect escaped.

The police had earlier taken the suspect to a house he owned at Abaji to conduct search and were on their way to the traditional head’s palace when the youths saw him in handcuffs and then blocked the road, the witness said.

Kabiru seized the opportunity created by the youths and escaped. Meanwhile, the police fired shots in the air to disperse the youths,a national newspaper, Daily Trust had reported.

Biu who had been dismissed from the police over 10 years ago was recently reinstated by the current Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringim. Biu was accused of being a key member of the Sani Abacha terror machine that killed several citizens and was in fact dragged before the Oputa panel. Soon after his reinstatement as a Deputy Commissioner,he was again promoted as Commissioner of police by the IGP last December.

Police force spokesman, Sola Amore, who confirmed the development, further gave an insight into how the suspect escaped from custody while being driven under police escort to Abaji. According to him: “The Nigeria Police Force wishes to confirm that a suspect was arrested in a successful Police operation and was rescued from a team of policemen detailed to carry out further investigation in the matter.

“The suspect was handed over to a Commissioner of Police for further investigation and he consequently detailed his men to take the suspect to Abaji in furtherance of investigation. In the course of undertaking this important procedure, the policemen on escorts with the suspect were attacked by the suspected sect gang members and in the process the suspect freed.

“The Police view this development as a serious negligence on the part of the Commissioner of Police and have since been queried and suspended him from duty. If a criminal case is established against him and his team, they will be prosecuted”.  cheesy

The Borno state government had also on Monday in a statement exonerated the state governor of any complicity. The state in a release signed by the secretary to the state government, Baba Ahmed Jidda said: “The Government of Borno State would like to set the record straight with respect to the arrest last Friday, January 13, of a suspected member of the Jama’atu ahlus Sunnah Lid da’awati wal Jihad by security agents at the Borno State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja. The arrested suspect was wanted by the police for alleged complicity in the Christmas Day bombing of a church at Madallah, Niger State, in which many lives were lost.

In the wake of the arrest, there were insinuations in some quarters that the Borno State Government was harbouring a suspected sect member at its lodge. There is the added allegation that the state government could be in cahoots with the sect, which has claimed responsibility for terrorist outrages in many parts of the country, most of them in Borno State.
The Borno State Government hereby vehemently dismisses these allegations and insinuations. They are untrue, misleading, callous and are an attempt by some detractors to turn the truth on its head and to try to score political points with a very serious matter of individual and state security.

When we first heard about this incident, His Excellency Governor Kashim Shettima immediately ordered an investigation and this is what we found. On the evening of Thursday, January 5, one Ibrahim Umar Abba, an indigene of Borno State and a post-graduate student at the University of Birmingham in the UK, called the permanent secretary of the Borno State Liaison Office in Abuja.
