We should borrow a leaf from Israel: Once a bomber has been identified, instead of waiting for his kit and kin to call him a mythr, the government should go after every member of their family, bulldoze their house, freeze their bank account.
All these are done publicly to disuade potential bombers, and ensure that the family doesn't benefit one kobo from their wards cowardly act.

In Nigeria, this could be modified to include leveling the house of the emir of the town where that individual was raised, jailing his islamic teacher or teachers, and forcing the family to pay compensation to the familes of the affected.

Israel is in a tight spot, but this policy is just as bad as suicide bombing. Reminds me of last year when the SE governors proclaimed they were going to hold village Chiefs responsible for kidnapping in their domain.

What's more Israel can at least claim they are not attacking their own citizens. What excuse would Nigeria give?

It works all the time, because most people come from a tracable locale. If you squeeze the igwes, emirs, or obas hard enough, they will tell you everything you need to know about everybody in their town.

Enugu, Kano, and even Maiduguri are big metropolis, so you'd expect many people to live outside the domain of a recognized traditional ruler. However, if it happens in my small village of less than 3000, you'll be sure everyone knows everyone, and even what they ate for dinner last night.

Also, if a suicide bomber is traced to a house in say Enugu or Kano, and it was discovered that he has lived there for some time, then it would mean his family or neighbors ought to have known a thing or two about his activities.
If these people never reported to the police, then the house too needs to be demolished and the people punished.

If you do this, trust me, you'll see how fast these silent northern leaders will rise to condemn BK, and even rat them out before they do more harm.

Is this draconian, yes, but brainwashing someone to go blow themselves up for another person's palaver is even more draconian.
