A police officer was killed on Saturday night in Rigasa, Kaduna state by suspected members or sympathisers of the radical Islamic sect Boko Haram, who accused the deceased of spying on the community.

The police officer had been killed at his Kaduna residence, reports say, and his service weapon taken away by the culprits.

A source in the Kaduna Police Command told Sahara Reporters that they didn’t think they were real members of the Boko Haram sect, saying “they are just representatives who are spying for the main organization. They might have felt uncomfortable with him reporting them here, and so decided to hack him down so as not to continue being a threat to their spying business for the Boko Haram.
