I don't think anyone would dispute the fact that 9ice is a major player in the music industry. After catching people's attention with the album 'Certificate', he won their hearts with the album 'Gongo Aso'. His rise was on until he released his album 'Tradition' and then separated from his wife.

The separation took a toll on him as it affected his the sales of the album Tradition which to me is a very tight Album. Then came his spat with former friend, Ruggedman and then the media went after 9ice. Everyone was cocksure that he was finished and the postponement of his 4th and 5th albums for over a year further led people to believe that 9ice was finished; especially with the influx of the commercial singers like Wizkid and the media overrated Iceprince.

To the surprise of many haters and fans, his 36 tracks double album tagged "Bashorun Gaa" and "Versus" were released on Dec 7 2011 and it was been good news all the way. After 48 hours of the release, people came on social networks to complain that every vendor they approached had sold out his last copy of the album hereby making the marketer and his ex-wife, Toni Payne to claim that the album sold out after 24 hours; a view re-echoed by many.

The reviews for the albums have been very positive and he was able to combine sensible songs with commercial ones hereby giving music pundits a mixed grill.
Still, some sections of the Press and some 'Ruggedman' fans still seem to underrate him. They claim he is washed out and finished. Even his Birthday celebration at the Oriental Hotels which was attended by the likes of DonJazzy, Wizkid, Mode9, Tiwa Savage. Jimmy Jatt, Terry G, Seriki, JahBless, Cabasa, TYmIX, and almost every big player in the industry couldn't convince his haters. To them, 9ice should quit singing. To others, their opinion is a minority one as they opine that 9ice is A list, is one of the best lyricists around and still has a lot to offer.

Is he underrated or Overrated? Your thoughts please.
