Could Nigeria Have Made It To The Semis If They Qualified? by bingbagbo(m): 5:55pm On Feb 06, 2012 |
WoW, THE much awaited nations cup is currently on-going, and assessing all 16 teams so far, i think there has been a tremendous improvements. There is hardly a boring game, as even teams such as Botwana, equatorial guinea and sudan, who prior to the tourney were regarded mere pushovers have proven and justified their presence. As this trend is handsome to African football, its also worrying signs for some so-called Power houses, especially as the 2014 world cup qualifiers kick-starts soon. My question is that, had the super eagles qualified, would they have joined the last four, based on the quality of players and manager of the team?If nigeria had qualified instead of Guinea, they would have been in Group D alongside Ghana, mali and Botwana.Could nigeria have made it and problably gone all the way? |

NOPE!!!! We used to fluke it pass the likes of Zambia, Tunisia or Angola!!!! That wont happen this time around, most of the small teams in Africa would be glad to hand Nigerian Football team a "Royal" asswhooping given the chance!!! |

hmm they'll probably have been fighting over bonuses by now, or the coach will be demanding a building in aso rock or he will be looking to 'discipline' a player he think disrespected him - showing him who is boss or NFF/NFA/NFL will in conjuntion with senators, reps, Dome Patience, Youth leaders etc etc chartering a flight on a private jet to 'boost their moral' |

You can't get to the semi finals if you're not good enough to even qualify. |

We would not make it beyond the group stage and that was the reason why we did not qualify. |

How do you think that someone that didn't survive a wrestling would have survived a fight. They wouldn't have made it to that stage. |

Re: Could Nigeria Have Made It To The Semis If They Qualified? by niddamugu(m): 3:00pm On Feb 07, 2012 |
My answer is capital NO! We are never prepared for such events. We do a lot of permutations and depend on other countries to help beat those we ought to have beaten in the first place. Secondly, officials numbering 3 times (wives & GFs + PAs inclusive) would be attending in order to create distractions in the camp. Thirdly, players complaining of unpaid match bonuses. Fourthly, the federation complains of insufficient funds. The list is endless, in fact, problems! problems! problems!. |
Re: Could Nigeria Have Made It To The Semis If They Qualified? by youngdee168(m): 3:14pm On Feb 07, 2012 |

Re: Could Nigeria Have Made It To The Semis If They Qualified? by Ironi: 4:12pm On Feb 07, 2012 |
This is a dumbass question. The current competition going on is just a continuation of the qualifying competition so what the heck are you talking about? How can you play with the big boys if you can't play with the small boys? You'll be massacred. This is why the boys are first separated from the men. Now, don’t begin to get any funny ideas. |

I think not. Failing to qualify surely says all that needs to be said here. Why not. I understand the Eagles will be getting their legendary bronze medal for ten seasons of exceptional third place finishes from who else other than CAF Presido - Isa Hire Too. Said they have made a truck load and won't want them finely engraved pieces to go waste. |
