SIRcumalot: When I first saw him come to first team football for Chelsea, he started from the right back. I like him a lot though. He has little protection in front of him, unlike the left back which is highly protected by Matic. |

Odunharry: I didn't see this particular match. So how many tackles did Azpilicueta win? Zero. I want to believe Matic won all the tackles and shielded Azpilicueta well. |

elampiro:I think Southampton will eventually get to settle for a Europa slot. They know they are punching above their weight by far. So im not to bothered sbout where they will finish. A city loss would do more damage to their fragile confidence at the moment and reduce the gap to just 2 points between us and them. Then we will know that they are onky third largely because of Chris Smalling. 1 Like |

It's baffling why Diego Costa didn't get a straight red card yesterday, despite consecutive fouls on Oshea and Wes Brown. Smh. Seems they are giving him special treatment. If it was Cattermole, the ref wouldn't have hesitated. Btw,that Lee Cattermole is a beast! He is somehow similar to Roy Keane. He is ready to break a leg if that is what can help Sunderland. He doesn't care about getting booked. |

Ander Herrera is part of a probe into alleged match-fixing and illegal payments in Spain. According to Spanish reports, prosecutors will next week file court papers naming Ander Herrera as part of their investigation. Herrera will be required to fly over and give evidence at the court in Valencia. If found guilty he could face a ban or even jail. The alleged match-fixing is tied to Herrera’s time at his first club, Real Zaragoza. The 25-year-old was part of the Zaragoza team that won 2-1 against Levante on the final day of the 2010-11 season in a must-win game to seal the club’s escape from relegation. But a subsequent investigation by Spanish anti-corruption authorities has reportedly uncovered payments to players’ bank accounts – including that of Herrera – with former Zaragoza president Agapito Iglesias’ role under the microscope, as well as that of two club directors. The papers are expected to be presented in Valencia early next week, accusing all 28 players who took to the field for the match on May 21, 2011 – including Swansea City winger Jefferson Montero – of being part of the alleged fix. Manchester United refused to comment on the allegations last night. |

Danhumprey: Blind completed more passes against QPR. Both are great passers. This is the reason I smell selection problem every where in our team. What's going to happen when Blind returns? We have players that are too good to be on the bench. |

afrodoc:there's no way Anderson can be poorer than Fletcher. the reason he's been totally ostracized yet trains with the first team, is still an unrivalled mystery! *edit* LvG clears the air though hehehehehe chai Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has been speaking about Brazilian midfielder Anderson. The former FC Porto player has barely featured for the Dutchman since he took charge in the summer, and in quotes published by the Sunday People van Gaal revealed why. “I cannot judge him but when he trains he trains at a good level,” the United boss said. “He’s not always fit, and that is more his problem now. “I wouldn’t pick him yet because you have to be fit. Being fit to play is the smallest thing you can demand as a trainer.” |

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by PietroRico(m): 12:17pm On Nov 30, 2014 |
1. - yes, we do. 2- the type opposition should play a greater role midfield selection process IMO. A few weeks ago, the answer to this question would have easily been herrera and blind in a double pivot but with carrick looking like his old Self and fellaini showing us the benefits of physicality. I'll settle for a midfield diamond with carrick at the base, and blind/herrera on both sides and rooney/di maria at the tip and a front two of any two of dimaria, rooney, falcao and rvp ..........Carrick.......... Herrera...............Blind......... .....Rooney/Dimaria..... Falcao/RVP ... Rooney/Dimaria. Fellaini can come in when we truly need physicality. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by PietroRico(m): 12:23pm On Nov 30, 2014 |
...I forgot mata, well, he tends to only play well when we play 'weak' opposition so he'll not make my default united side. He'll get spece when we're playing qpr and the likes. Underdog teams that'll want to park the bus. That's where he's more useful. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SetrakusRa(m): 12:27pm On Nov 30, 2014 |
Yes, we need Nani. In a 4-3-2-1, this should be our perfect formation. Di Maria plays more deeper, we have Herrera and our muscle; Fellaini. Herrera -- Carrick/Blind-- Fellaini. --- Rooney ---------- Di Maria ---------- RvP/Falcao |

Louis van Gaal has called Anderson's fitness into question having watched him train with his Manchester United team- mates. The United boss said Anderson has had a lot of injuries this season which has hindered his progress but went a step further by making it clear he wanted Anderson to improve his fitness levels. "Anderson is now coming back. He was injured but he's training now with the team," Van Gaal said. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 12:53pm On Nov 30, 2014 |
mcfarlin: 1. Nani's question is hard to answer now because everyone is playing well. Calling Nani would mean less game time for Herrera, Mata, Valencia. It might also alter the way we approach games because of his defensive shyness. If we kept winning, I would advocate a slim squad. However, the temptation to recall him is enormous. I will answer the question in January. 2. This is another difficult question. Our players are just returning from injuries. We need plenty matches to assess some players in comparison with others. E.g Blind vs Carrick. Fellaini vs Herrera. The coach might need a whole season to reach a conclusion. 2-man midfield. Blind and Fellaini 3-man midfield. Blind, Fellaini and Herrera. I am not even sure why I am leaving out Carrick. I am picking Fellaini because of the need to maintain balance in terms of creativity and physicality. 1 Like |

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 2:56pm On Nov 30, 2014 |
Midfield diamond with carrick at the base and di maria at the apex and herrera and blind either side. .....................di maria...................... ........blind.....................herrera........... ......................carrick.................... This offers the best option for our midfield to control possession with accurate passing and gives good protection for our defence . . 1 Like |
