these days players are barely given time to settle & its largely the fault of the press.

its not in any written law that a new buy must have a stellar first season. we've seen players do so well on arrival @ a new club, but keep declining from that point till they are sold - look @ Chicharito.

it'll be a dent on di Maria's books for him to quit now. we saw his talents in the first few months after his transfer, bearing in mind the general rebuilding status of Man United, surely it will be proper to try again next season after he's had a year experience of football in England.

Our game is by 3.The truth is out of all our central defenders,Johnny Evans is the one that makes me cringe.He is just awfully bad esp this season. Smalling in my opinion is the best of the bunch but he is still plagued by niggling injuries.Jones is fairly good but sometimes he plunges into tackles brainlessly and the jury is still out on Rojo for now.He is physically okay but suffers lapses in concentration and is not the best on 1 vs 1.I think today we will see Rojo and Jones partnered.Truth be told,I would buy two top class CB's who CAN STAY FIT.That is the major issue for now.However,we should have enough today to dismiss Aston Villa.

The best way to play/partner with Rojo is to stay tight with him. If you leave him alone to go and try and intercept an oncoming threat, don't trust Rojo to be a sweeper behind you or take away the strikers most likely to score. You might be surprised to look behind and Rojo too had drifted away from the centre eye of the defence when he knew very well that his partner has gone away. Then he is always beaten to pace. He is good at aerial balls from outside the box, but I am not so sure he has that same quality from inside the box. Vidic didnt have pace, but he battled well inside the box.

But as it's said, he is still under appraisal.

until smalling's rich vein of form, rojo was our best defender. even now, he's the 2nd best defender.

how is Rojo lacking pace? you'll compare Vidic & Rojo for pace? he only needs to improve his concentration.
