rooney should shoulder all the responsibility in that attack. he's the arrow-head. it seems you people don't know the function of a centre-forward. everything in that area of the pitch should naturally go through rooney. you have a striker who cannot make the ball stick to his feet, a striker who cannot hold the ball long enough to allow runners breeze past him and he cannot tread an intelligent pass in the form of a through ball to feed his runners.

on top of that, rooney is now too slow to receive the ball either aerially or on the ground. rooney has no pace again to get behind the opponent's defence line or play the last man. he has lost all these attributes so how exactly do you expect us to score? rooney is part of the spine of the team in that position and when the head is infected with a virus, it would affect the other parts of the pitch. man utd are fine until they get to the final third and the attack breaks down whenever rooney gets the ball.

defenders find it very easy to play against rooney cos he offers zero threats to them.

Why play mata on the right and Januzaj behind the striker?

Young shud be starting ahead of Januzaj on the right with Mata in the middle.

In a game like this, a schneiderlin or teiger shud start in that middle.

A carrick/herrera/Januzaj in the middle is quite soft.

I will like to see Mata/herrera start even if Mata plays on the right with Herrera in behind the striker.

Right now I don't mind a Fellaini/chicharito as top striker.

Rooney has another chance of showing that he aint washed up. I just need an improvement from the shyte he has served us thus far atleast to encourage us.
