Fussbot: Is van gaal for real with rojo?when we already have blackett?bla-what? u r not serious o! we should compete with Chelsea and man city by believing in a certain blanket even the trio of Jones , Evans, and smalling won't play at d same time in a 'league chasing' team talk less of blacket. am not saying they are not good . each of them needs to pair with a very seasoned and experienced player in order to gain maturity. guy if na play , a beg stop am |

I like Rojo... there's nothing overly exceptional about him truly; but he is one helluva 'feisty' character. Something Jones, Smalling, Evans and Blackett, for all their ability, aren't. The sort of individual that can make a striker a tad too tread carefully when he is close. Just look at how dull Smalling, Jones, Blackett and Evans look - I don't even think anybody is scared of them sef! I mean, I want a defender who is not scared of tackling - our guys now just ball watch and keep backing up towards our goal, afraid to concede a free-kick. If Rojo brings all that 'fearless' energy to the fore... folks, he may just be looking at our next UTD legend! 1 Like |

Its also good that the Nani swap is a loan deal... he seriously needs that breathe of fresh and I believe he will return better. Nani is a fantastic footballer; he will bounce back! |

boyo44: he's as good as robben if he can sort out his fragile mental strength. i think nani plays better when he doesn't have to look over his shoulder or fear for his place in a starting line up......and that's not good enough! if he gets the kinda pampering rooney & valencia get from our fans, nani is as good as any winger in the top division. he's got more ammo to hurt any opposition than any winger in the land but he needs to do it more often. |

lekkie073: oh sorry, he is not "as good as robben" he's as good as robben! the stats you reeled out is about appearances. no one uses number of appearances to analyse stats, number of minutes is more like it. then you have to factor the kinda opposition robben lines up against every matchday. the second best team in germany last season conceded 9 goals against a united side managed by moyes. finally, how many of third robben goals were awoof penalties in his league? has nani ever scored a penalty for united in the league? never. has robben? that's definite! |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Dadehmola: 8:30pm On Aug 18, 2014 |
What an assist by fabregas! If only moyes had succeeded in getting him, we probably won't be talking about Vidal now |

Good pass from Fabregas. What we lack from our midfielders not sideways passes. |

chrisley024: Good pass from Fabregas. That is why i suspect we wasted 100m pounds or more on our most recent transfers especially Fellaini,Mata and Herrera. Mata and Fellaini were both obviously panic buys and Herrera is possibly just a miscalculation(i hope he proves me wrong). The players i wanted us to get in midfield in recent years were Modric,Fabregas,Strootman but somehow they all went to other clubs for around the same amount that we bought these otu oshi for......it is mind boggling how badly the management has bungled our transfer deals. 1 Like |

chrisley024: Just that he hasn't been doing it. Besides he can't be played as a CMF. how many times has kagawa featured for us in the position he likes the most? kagawa crafted some telegraphic passes in our last european campaign that are as good as cesc's pass tonight. |

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SailorXY: 9:10pm On Aug 18, 2014 |
afrodoc:Mata & Herrera are good enough for Man United, what this team lacks is a DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER. a boring defensive midfielder (like Makalele) who will go into tackles with panache & decisiveness (not hoping to clean up lose balls) is what will make this team. all these prophesies of doom & all is nothing. this team is not anywhere near poor; its just not balanced! |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by coogar: 9:11pm On Aug 18, 2014 |
chrisley024: Yeah. We've spent huge with no significant change. it's not about the money......no big player wanted to play for moyes. fabregas was chased to the end of the planet but moyes was too unattractive. if we had hired a world class manager from the outset, this wouldn't have been a problem. we couldn't land players when we were champions of england - how do we intend to get one when we finished 7th & out of europe? |

Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 9:28pm On Aug 18, 2014 |
SailorXY: Mata is a good player, but personally i don't like his lack of physicality(even silva and iniesta are tougher to get off the ball) and his inability to dig deep when it gets tough in the trenches. He is good enough for United i just don't think he fits in with our usual style. The jury is still out on Herrera, there is no serious evidence anywhere that he is good enough for United. He is 24 and midfielders 2 yrs younger than him have already gotten capped by Spain. And its more of what our rivals are doing and what players other clubs are signing to improve their teams. And when i mean good enough i mean good enough to be bought for about 30m pounds and be a leader in the midfield. Herrera is not as good as Thiago or Martinez that a Bayern midfield already better than ours signed in the last few years. He is not as good as Kroos or Modric that Madrid signed, He is not as good as Fabregas that Chelsea signed. Teams that already have better midfielders than us are still signing better midfielders than us. How do you catch up then? There is too much pressure on Van Gaal to turn water to wine with this mediocre bunch we have here 5 Likes |

MrTA: Jeez, it's so bad that I'm already dreading facing this lot. Not to talk of Chelsea it's not about pace & power, it's about the heart! giggs/carrick used to obliterate the almighty chelsea midfield. they kicked chelsea out of europe sef by beating them home/away. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by SailorXY: 9:52pm On Aug 18, 2014 |
afrodoc:football is a team sport bros. City & Chelshit have constantly had better players than United since the sugadaddies; how many leagues titles do they have between them from then compared to man united? Madrid had better players, expensively assembled when they relied on a Nani red card to make progress against united. this is all about balance, forget about our defence. what's in front of our defence is the problem. we've good a shot-stopper that can hold his own anywhere, a young & tidy backline. yes, experience has been lost but still its decent enough; with potential to be world-beaters. moving further upfront: since the days of Roy Keane, united fans have suffered mediocrity. Hargreaves was an exception, but he couldn't last long enough. I'm talking of battlers that put shivers in you even when you had possession of the ball. the defence has no protection, that's no Herrera's specialty! why have we refused to upgrade this part of the pitch for so long?? the anomaly is also drifting to the wings now, Ronaldo & Giggs gone... Valencia & Young as replacements, I mean for fvck's sake the standard keep falling! who knows? maybe when van Persie is gone, we may replace with Cavani or another pile of shitfuck from somewhere*** why? why? why? |

SailorXY: Are we going for vidal because we need to "screen the back four"? We could as well go for a player like matic or fernando.. |
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:04pm On Aug 18, 2014 |
SailorXY: You appear to be contradicting yourself. On one hand you say we have always succeeded even with mediocre players and so do not need to upgrade and on the other hand you are lamenting our not upgrading in the DM position. Which is it? If we follow your 1st theory then certainly we can use the same mediocre players that have been playing DM for us and still win, since in your opinion we have had success whether we had good players or not. Times have changed and there is something similar to the nuclear arms race happening in football now. The big clubs are overloading on talent and becoming superclubs, the playing field is becoming more and more uneven, and we are gradually being left behind. We must not rest on our oars and just say we USED to win with Oshea,Phil Neville and Wes Brown and so we can always win with any players we get. We need to improve across the board, just that midfield (esp DM) is of the greatest concern. 3 Likes |

afrodoc:this definitely is not human anatomy if your vehicle is a BMW X6M that has provision for you to drive not faster than 100km/h when your tires are flat, do you now continue running on flats for the whole year simply becuz its possible for you to move on flats? how do you expect to sprint to your duties or even win a race when you just simply like to show the world that you have superior wheels? what changes will your upgrades in engine or transmission box mean when you still haven't first taken care of your flat tyres |
