wuwu2: Though Im not bidding; but if I will then' 90 days- 10.6% 182 days - 14.5% 365 days - 15.3% I think there might be a little difference (either increment or decrement) from the the last auction date. 1 Like |

Pls I need to know if there is anything like 360days in the primary market. Got 15% from gtbank for supposed 365days only to see 360days in the alert. I'm guessing it's their secondary market that was sold to me. Might be wrong though |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by angelo82: 11:36am On Mar 24, 2015 |
Yes.....That must be secondary market price but not bad............ Chillis: |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Chillis: 11:51am On Mar 24, 2015 |
angelo82: Thanks. How did you get to bid for yourself. After the mails sent to some account officers, they said I could put in my bid which I did. They make it look like primary bid only to give you from their secondary market. Gtbank It's all good. That's the price I pay for now. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by angelo82: 12:00pm On Mar 24, 2015 |
Seems like they manipulated your bid.......Maybe you had a successful bid and they decided to ration down your rate.........But next time stipulate clearly your bidding terms and tell them to acknowledge the receipt of your instruction so that there will no excuse after the primary bidding process.....Always submit your bid few days before the auction..........Also let them know that you will be checking the bid result on your own,as in let them know you are fully aware of the whole process......... angelo82: Thanks. Is there a body one can write to for such misconduct. Clearly they don't give people their primary bids but go through the secondary option. Even after collecting the tax and other deductions. |

Please I don't understand where you guys get those rate from cos I went to first bank today and was given 10.5% on 2 million for 360 days which I refused,I went to fidelity as well and was offered 11% for 360 days from the primary market,I went UBA and was told its 11% too.So please where do you get your rates from cos I really need to invest my funds pls and I need a good returns. |

I think you should complain because such conduct is unethical........Meanwhile have you @all heard about the plane crash in Southern France......Such a pity that 142 passengers and 6 crews had to die helplessly........May God grant their soul eternal peace.......Check the link below and give a serious complain and you should also mention the name of the officer............ http://www.gtbank.com/whistle-blowerr Chillis: |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by angelo82: 1:40pm On Mar 24, 2015 |
Check the date of next bid and then write an instruction to your bank stating your preferred bids for 364days bills........And check the result online for result of your bid.........Very simple!...Dont accept such meagre rates for 360days even from secondary market........Is too low....... mikanju: |

wuwu2: Looks like all these banks are beginning to follow the trend of indirectly selling one the secondary market bids. Cc angelo82 |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by angelo82: 5:33pm On Mar 24, 2015 |
Even your own situation doesn't make sense because even at secondary market they will give you lower than that but I believe your bid was successful and the person in charge intentional cut your gain to enrich herself.....Its unacceptable whichever way you look at it........Similar to what happened to me previously and thats why my 18th bidding was done with due dilligence and I also passed serious message to the bank.....Most of Nigeria tier 1 banks are crooks and by next year all my account will be closed and I will focus on one particular bank......You should try to open account with other banks and see how they are ethically so as to have option of moving your fund when your bill mature............. |

Bid by writing a simple instruction letter stating your account number, amount to be invested, bid rate and tenure.....Also ask your bank to acknowledge the receipt of your instruction for purchase of T.Bills from Primary market.......

|

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by angelo82: 8:08pm On Mar 24, 2015 |
Maintain your stand and Union Bank will definitely follow your instruction............There is no secondary market at Union bank but they can only advice you to do FD which you can politely decline............ wuwu2: |

My bank manager said she didn't get instructions from the head office about the bidding taking place and the banks recommended rates. So, I guess nothing for me this week. |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by fphumie(f): 2:27am On Mar 25, 2015 |
I will like to correct some notion- there is no way a bank staff will enrich herself/ hisself personally. Treasury group does the deal while treasury operation group finish the process by debiting the customer's account. For GTB to have given you 15% for 360days I will say it is a good rate . Rates are declining, just do not conclude yet, wait till you get this week bid result to know if you will thank GTBank or do otherwise . That is my little penny. I bided for 365days at a rate lower than 15% cos rates are dropping |
