5 games 4 goals. ultra defensive. lesbian that got lucky to qualiify Togo only to fail in nations cup. later failed big time in Mali. we think he is d Messiah? time will tell. even d BBC commentator said it. why sack siasia only to put up this type of performance.

Stephen Keshi has never been known to be a tactician. Football is not about inviting players. It is about maping out killer strategies to win games. In this game, there was none. With the inclusion of lazy players like Dickson Etuhu in Nigeria's games, we should forget winning anything. Dickson is not among the top ten midfielders we have in Nigeria. Why use him? Anybody that has repeatedly watched Dickson during the world cup will konw what I mean-always committing error, faulty passes and does not move with the ball. Please read the commentry by MTN and we will know that the bad days are here.

If Nigeria can not have a good government, how do you expect them to have a good football team, our best football was in military era cos they know the implication of getting bad result.

The games we watched where only the home based boys played is even better than this.
Professional legs have come again to ruin things further.

Same old football team, just another name. What makes a new team? New coach? New players? None! It's a new mentality that makes an old football team new. Our dear National football team has had the same mentality for years now, and still counting. Keshi himself is relying more on the foreign based players. Why make the home based lads work so hard only to drop them for big guys who came to camp some 72hrs before a very important game? These home based sacrificed their teams' league games for the National team, something their foreign based colleagues couldn't do. It's just another game, same old Super Eagles as we know them.

Super Eagles 1994 - 2000

Ordinary Chickens: 2000 - Huh

^^^No be everything be government fault.

@modie,
if you are a christian, i urge you to read Proverbs 29:2. it says; when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice but when the wicked are in power, the people mourn.
what our football is experiencing for sometime now is mourning just to prove right the word of God. we have devils in charge and no coach will bring in the solution.
the sack of siasia was good because it takes only a bad work man to be quarreling with his tools. siasia was always fighting with his players in the name of discipline.
nigerians are always chasing after shadows. if a tree is bent, u cannot straight the shadow rather u have to try and straighten the tree itself.
until we get a genuine govt that has the interests of the masses at heart, our football and other sectors will continue to go the ways of nigeria as a whole.
at least today, nobody will blame mikel.

Keshi should have started the home based team that won 2-0 in Liberia and that has worked hard for months together. The starting 11 should have been these homebased players. These lazy european based pros just come spoil everything.

But of course, as you know we Nigerians, if he started the game with home-based and we draw or loose, we will say the home based are not experienced enough, he should have played european based

They were fixated with Siasia's failures that the substance of the team's development was lost. Was it not this team that capitulated at the world cup. Siasia brought them back and tried to whip them into shape but they rebelled. Keshi the third coach started well with new material and got some generous results beating the eventual winners of the AFCON in a friendly and Liberia only a few weeks ago. Now that the party has started the proverbial dog has returned to its vomit, scattered a promising team and exchanged it with european based chaff as if what happens in Blackburn, QPR or West Brom has anything to do with African football. Certainly Rwandan's are not as stary eyed.

Just considering the facts. When was the last time the so called foreign pros won the nations cup. Zambia and Egypt back to back were home based teams with time to blend simply because football is a team sport but Keshi scattered his team of four months for 48 hour invitees who are barely capable selling the soul of his team for exotic packet shirts and perfume.

These so called foreign players can NEVER win the Nations Cup. If Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana with much superior foreign players could not beat home based Egypt or Zambia in the last 6 years, it is obvious African football has moved on. I dare say even at the world stage the top teams have the best players at home e.g. Spain while traditional power houses Argentina and Brazil with so much talent abroad suffer. Look at yesterday's friendly with Luiz commiting his Chelsea blunders but when Ganso came in the game changed.

Football has changed and left us behind. So sorry.

Why are you guys worried about Nigerian Football. Emergency Rescue is already on the way in the person of Coach (Pastor) TB Joshua of Synagougue Church of all Nations. grin An Emergency meeting between Maigari-led Football Special Task force just unanimously voted to have TBJ take-over as Technical Consultant to the Super Eagles where Festus Onigbinfuool has failed to offer any sort of value for the past 11 years shocked

In summary the model of quick fixing with imaginary superior skills and techniques of so called foreign pros ended in the nineties. Most african teams have caught up. Today you need good team play forged by months of proximity training and closed cultural systems to qualify to qualify thoughtless of winning tournaments. The present attitude of depending on the statistics of these players in Europe without proper training will get us no where. If they cannot report long enough to camp, train, adapt and re culture then its not worth it. They may be superstars for their clubs but in the baking sun today in Rwanda they knew not each other and were gasping for breath.
