Cheeky wolf-whistles or calling someone 'darling' could get you arrested, under a new European convention that David Cameron will sign today.

They are some of the kind of sexist remarks that could be made illegal under new laws tabled in the Council of Europe's convention on violence against women.

The Prime Minister will subscribe to the agreement, already endorsed by 18 European countries including France, Germany and Ukraine, to coincide with International Women's day.
