Christianity And Slavery by logicboy: 7:51pm On Mar 26, 2012 |
Slavery existed since biblical times and the most common case of slavery is the transatlantic slave trade, which existed from the 16th to the 19th century. Furthermore, there are bible quotes that seem to support slavery such as; Leviticus 25:44 "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 1 Peter 2:18 "Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh." Titus 2:9 "Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to try to please them, not to talk back to them" Furthermore, in the 13th century, the Catholic church officially supported slavery in its canon law by Pope Gregory IX. Also, there were popes who held slaves themselves. 1 Like |

Of course the Bible supported slavery. How did the Israelites end up in the Land of the Pharaohs for donkey years in Egypt? |

Reyginus: An atheist and satanist wannabee. He's also logic mind, so I doubt if he really wants to being a satanist. Or was he interested in being satanist when he was logic mind? I didn't read too much from him, I just remember the humor for the most part. |
