Forex is like any other business people, you have to plan, invest time and money, you have to learn the rudiments or else you will loose your money, anybody that approaches forex with a gambling mindset will end up crying his eyes out. Personally i have been trading forex for about 6 years and i sleep well at night and also at peace with my maker. If you need tips to trade or succeed in the forex market come check out my blog www.swanfxgroup.

GAMBLING IN THE SIN CONTEXT- The simple reason why gambling is a sin is because you don't buy and sell anything to profit from. There is no exchange of goods and services with money.Secondly, gambling involves betting, stalking and contention.Thirdly, in gamble what you buy does not have the capacity to increase or reduce in value to profit from by selling,so gambling is not a business. Finally, in business we sell to make profit, you bet or stalk in gambling to make money.A simple example is betting, lottery and taking funds that does not belong to you because you know you can choose not to account for it.

In business you buy and sell goods and services to make profit. So, if it is not business, it is gambling and it is a sin.
In forex trading you buy or sell currency pair(buying one and selling the other simultaneously)(the goods) and wait for the price to rise(increase) or fall(reduce)to make profit.Just as in shares and other financial instruments trading, and in buying and selling of goods and services to make profit.

Idera_olu: Can Christian Trade FOREX!

Considering the similarity some have tagged to Forex trading i.e: Gambling, is it ethical for Christians to trade Forex without spinning the verses of the bible?

These may be an opportunity to educate others that want to know more.

Many thanks.

Below is what I posted to all my forex students and friends after I quitted the devil's business!!
Read on:

"To all my forex friends:
This is hard for me to do but I have to do it
By the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ I am off with forex.

Recently I have decided to amend my ways before the Lord.
And I kept asking myself what about forex? Is this really good for christians?
Then I came across this after google searching:This is somebody saying=

"Is Forex and most other financial trading wrong or sinful for Christians?
I have stopped trading Forex altogether because I have developed serious ethical problems as a Christian with it.

Most types of financial trading are a zero sum game, even a negative sum game. It produces NOTHING of value, no goods or services, and no wealth is created like in Stock Trading. The net change in total wealth among traders is zero at the end of the day (sometimes even less!) - the wealth is just SHIFTED from one trader to another! (Reallocation of wealth.)

It is far too close to gambling for me (some skill, a lot of chance), and you make gains ONLY at another's expense! Jesus said that we should love our neighbor as we love ourselves. How can you do that when you profit only at somebody else’s expense? It is a violation of Jesus’ most basic commandment for humanity. And to give to worthy causes from Forex earnings may be great, but the end never justifies the means! I personally consider Forex now essentially a form of legalized stealing and robbery. The experienced Forex trader is committed to “fleecing” those who are inexperienced!

Don’t pray and ask God to help you with your financial trading - he won’t! Don’t be deceived.

An agnostic has even said: “In Forex you’re not doing any useful work, and you’re hoping to make a lot of money from it, right? Isn’t this really like stealing from the public? You’re hoping to get a lot of money from moving currencies around, and you’re not giving the world anything in return - except moving some currencies around. I think that’s just like theft.”

Mark 8:36: For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul Whosoever.
We have to please God in every areas of our lives.
Therefore I surrendered all. unto Jesus.
Bless u if you shall also surrender all to Him."

It has nothing to do with religion, forex trdaing is just the trading of currencies, indices, commodities, stocks and so and so forth. If a Christian can buy shares then why is Forex trading different? As I'm typing now, I'm having a pastor from Abuja that I teach BINARY OPTION. Forex is for all.

of course it is ethical for a christian to trade forex. where trading becomes a major issue in a christian's life is when trading becomes an idol and stumbling block.

Forex is not gambling if that was your thought, this is exchange of currencies done online which can described as similar to going to Sabo or MMA to change dollars or pounds from Aboki. I will ask is it ethical for christians to seek for knowledge? I believe your answer will be yes. For this reason, many mountains you must climb before you can trade forex to profit & I believe whatever you do that makes you to study before you have positive result cannot be regarded as gambling.

Do not get confused. Another name for binary option trading is pure betting, try your luck and gambling unlike forex trading. Yes forex trading can be gambling if you do not sees it as a long term INVESTMENT or simply do not have an edge in trading. This link here will help you www.gotquestions.org/gambling-sin.html and another great answer here http://answerarena.com/index.php?topic=1107 or if you have access to a genuine believer or an Holy Spirit posses Pastor, then you will get the right answer or better ask God yourself. I used to be a victim of forex gambling but that's a thing of the past now after I worked my way to the right fx methods/knowledge. Am not thinking of leaving now unless God wants me to.

Is Forex and most other financial trading wrong or sinful for Christians?

I have stopped trading Forex altogether because I have developed serious ethical problems as a Christian with it.
Most types of financial trading are a zero sum game, even a negative sum game. It produces NOTHING of value, no goods or services, and no wealth is created like in Stock Trading. Think carefully about what I have said. I don't know if anybody can convince me otherwise/refute my arguments?

In my own words, the fact that it is a zero sum game (no value) is enough justification for this article. I wish you all the best till one day you will take the kind of decision I have taken.

Henry Ford said: " Wealth is never attained when sought after directly. It comes as a by-product of supplying a useful service."

By the way, the odds ate totally stacked up against you in Forex. Up to 95% of small forex traders loose all their money in trading.

Think carefully about what I have said. This is how I think and feel right now. I don't know if anybody can convince me otherwise/refute my arguments?

mkmyers45: For you to gain someone has to lose isn't that cheating? What does the bible say about betting?

Forex is not betting. It is a business, a career and an investment. It is like an online bureau de change, its just that in online forex, you don't have to wait for two, three month for the currency you bought to appreciate in value before selling it. The person that loses in forex is the one that sees forex as gambling or betting, maybe you!

No hard feelings just joking, grin grin grin

Hope you are not offended?

Pools, binary option, football betting and every so called business where you have to tangle with the other person to predict and win are all not biblical and they are sinful considering their outcomes of robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Thanks.
