Cant remember d last time i heard dat 4rm my parents.. Its nt common in naija dats it.

tnx for dis thread, i have 3 kids - 2 boys and a girl- i just realised after reading dis dt i only say "I love u" to my girl and never to my boys...... I'll make it a point of duty to change dat. those 3-letter words shld be said to every child at least once a day!

Parents say I love you in Nigeria? That is an imported/strange idea in Nigeria O. Do as you are told or get a whipping is the closest 'I love you' you will get from most Nigerian parents.

These imported ideas are spoiling our children.tongue grin Next thing, these children will want to call their father and mother by their first names as if 'mum' and 'dad' are not bad enough. angry cheesy

as much as i agree wt not sparing d rod, saying dis words is necessary to our growing children, not wt d way most parents leave d care of dia kids wt nannies. saying doz words to dem once in a while will do a whole lot of gud to dem and make dem knw dt they ve nt bn neglected or abandoned as it may seem. they re still very much loved and cared for even tho dad & mum re nt always dia....lol
