I was at the event today and i think it was commendable. Some of the comments here are just a reflection of how things have turned in Nigeria. many of the people making all these comments dont have anything they are doing themselves to better things but they will attack anything being done by anyone else. its not a nairaland thing- its the sad state of things in Nigeria. The sad state that successive leadership failures have done to the minds of our future leaders. Three lines of arguments cant be made without resorting to abuse and curses. Yet, they feel they will do better than those running this nation aground now. Its sad!

Tell me the successful rich man that started out in Nigeria without getting his hands dirty or one way or the other related to someone in government. If dangote or otedola or jimoh ibrahim were there I would listen. This days, they bring in experts to come in and cajole us, Boko Haram or fuel subsidy scam or pension scam or SEC scandal. U bring in an american or someone from a developed country to spill what is obvious, like the awolowo's or azikiwe's in their youths we are not dull. In america, u have frameworks, pedestals, policies and infrastructures that work. Is it Bill gate that built the roads or is it donald trump that provide water for the entire populace or was late steve job responsible for adequate electricity. Everybody have a responsibility and when some wallow in corruption it is bound to affect the system. I am hopeful for a better tomorrow but there are no two ways about it... The Truth. There are few things worse than a youth who does not value and embrace knowledge, because knowledge is power and the foundation of innovation. Like Leke Alder said, the accumulation of knowledge from various sources will spark up that idea that can change your life. So was Platform 10.0 worth it? Every bit of it.

Thank God for people who still believe in Nigeria. Thank God for Ibukun Awosika, for Leke Alder, Pst Poju Oyemade, Anand Giridharadas and the many others who are using their resources to birth a knowledge revolution in Nigeria.
Re: Leke Alder: Theplatform 10.0 : Cultural Innovation Live by amdman: 7:13am On May 02, 2012
The reality of the Nigerian businessman is that he wants to make all the money quickly without working on building a stable base. Thus he grows a tall tree that has little roots and when the big challenges come, the business crumbles like a pack of cards.

Most of the ingredients for business failure are in Nigeria, but Ibukun Awosika made it and is today doing big business. What are you going to do about yours?

Re: Leke Alder: Theplatform 10.0 : Cultural Innovation Live by patrick45(m): 7:32am On May 02, 2012
My take on this matter is this...There are opportunities everywhere u turn to, even in war torn parts of the world, opportunities are just problems that need solutions. It is understandable that the Nigerian business climate is "Anti Entrepreneur" in nature, but what will you say about new small/medium scale businesses that have gone on for 5yrs and counting. In this same harsh business environment that we all know exists. It is mind set that sets apart the business starters from the ones who will give a million reasons why business in Nigeria will not succeed.

Good morning.
Re: Leke Alder: Theplatform 10.0 : Cultural Innovation Live by Delafruita(m): 7:51am On May 02, 2012
entrepreneurs in nigeria have a very high risk of failing than succeeding.almost everything that can help you succeed is non-existent.credit facilities come at a high price, electricity is comatose etc.notwithstanding, some people will succeed within that system.the platform series seeks to motivate those people to success
