The practice of demolishing houses linked to terror attackes was successfully used by the Israeli to curtail terror attacks by the Palestine numerous terror groups. In Nigeria where cost of building is very high; demolishing houses whose owners collaborated with terrorists who attack and kill innocent citizen will help persuade other house owners to monitor and report terror related activities in the houses, or risk loosing their house.

If the security agencies are 'deliberately' using the policy, I believe they are hitting the terrorist where it will definitely hurt them and their collaborators. It may sound controversial, but you fire with fire!
