@op pls let this be a mistake...when next u want to conceive, treat malaria b4 u conceive, as its too risky for a pregnant woman to be sick of malaria. For this, see ur doctor asap!

Why do u want to start when u get to 5 months? You are taking a risk for urself and the unborn child. Try and start ante-natal early. U can use fansidar or artesunate with paracetamol. All da best to you. Above all, remember that the first trimester is usually problematic and you have to bear a lot of discomforts and all that. Please refrain from self medication or asking for prescription on a forum like this. Let a qualified doctor who after examining you, will prescribe drugs for you.

Oh lawd! Artesunate is not safe in 1st trimester please and you're just on the boundary. Please go to your doctor, don't solicit for medical advice on a public forum! I know chloroquine is safe in 1st trimester but it doesn't work well.

Sweetheart please go back to your clinic. Some people experience headaches as a normal symptom of pregnancy while for some it could be a symptom of something more serious. Please go back to your clinic and do not self medicate.

P.S. The fact that I used those drugs does not mean its ok for everyone oh!! Please consult your doctor, do not self medicate especially in pregnancy

u can and should start ante-natal even during d 1st month of conceiving. Pls do not wait any further. The tests, scans and drugs you will receive during ante-natal will ensure good health for both you and the unborn child. The cattarh you have may be among the discomforts usually experienced by pregnant women. Though such discomforts vary from one woman to anoda. However, i cannot prescribe any drug for the cattarh because you provided little info abt how old the pregnancy is and when you developed the cattarh. Please visit any good Govt. Specialist hosp in your location for your ante-natal. Thank you and all the best to you during the pregnancy and after delivery.

^^ please help, am feeling feverish again. I treated malaria 7 days ago with coartem. I have treated malaria. 7 times so far in this pregnancy. I am 32 weeks. I have tested for urine infection and that has been ruled out. What else can cause recurrent fever and vomiting in pregnancy?
Re: What Drug Can A Pregnant Woman Feeling Malaria Take ?? by sweettweet: 10:51am On May 09, 2012
@adetunrayo,
pls do not use procold, actifed or any other catarrah drug for that matter. Take lots of vit.c enriched fruits or use the vit c tablet.
ur pregnancy is still young.

@Poster, that pregnant woman should consult her doctor & not just anybody. That way its safe for her & her baby.
Re: What Drug Can A Pregnant Woman Feeling Malaria Take ?? by Nobody: 1:14pm On May 12, 2012
@Poster, pls be mindful of the drugs you take. The way you're feeling might be one of the signs of early pregnancy and not necessarily MALARIA except otherwise proven by medical test. Pls, always talk to your doctor first... It helps.

Moreso, you need to get registered for ante-natal sharp sharp..lol. Don't wait till 5months....the drugs/supplements you'd be given contain vitamins, anti-malaria drugs etc that would help you and your baby. Best wishes.
