The power supply from PHCN in my area is nothing to write home about these days.We usually have nothing less than 16 hours of supply in a day before but now we have maximum of 4 hours in a day.The connection in my area is from a 33KV line(power line).Im just wondering,if it could be as bad as this in my neighbourhood how will it be in other places especially those that took supply from 11KV line.

The past 2 weeks in my area has been pretty okay lasting an approximate 18 hours

Though april was very horrible in terms of power supply . . .we only had power for a meagre 4 hours a day . . . .

Re: Democracy Day, Jonathan 1st year, How Is Power Supply In Your Area? by nsiadi: 9:40am On May 29, 2012
My area is fairly ok. We have power up to 20 Hrs daily. It stays even during peak periods
I believe it keeps improving when the mess on the ground is cleared
The mess? A lot ---mostly man made
These are being addressed. Examples gas supply, diversification of sources, even ghosts working @ PHCN are being unmasked!

Supply used to be great in Arepo before March. Since the second week of March, it has been zero supply.

It's terrible, to say the least.

In my area, we could as much as 3weeks or 4 without light, and when it comes it barely lasts an hour. It is that bad. I think as we wake everyday aftEr praying for ourselves and our loved ones, all Nigerians should just rain curses on our leaders. May God punish them for making life unbearable for citizens and stealing our money

In Ogijo, Ogun State, the worst EVER as for the past 6 months,no light. Amosun the Federal government and the government of Ogun state has neglected Ogijo. No single road is tarred. Erosion has taken over the entire town.

I cannot remember what light look like now.Have been buying fuel of 9,000 naira every week.

The worst government I ever known.

The electricity situation in VI/Lekki can only be expressed as systemic corruption. As you may or may not know, major conglomerates have their head offices here, so the banks finance diesel to many diesel selling firms at interest rate; what it therefore means is that, the more diesel that's sold, the more the profit to the diesel sellers and more interest to the bank. So the banks and the diesel selling firms have bribed PHCN to keep us in blackouts. It costs 100,000 Naira to fuel a 5 room duplex per month, so imagine the amounts that's involved in this racketeering. VI has almost 4hrs daily supply, not that there is generation, supply problem but banks and diesel cabal bribe all the way.

Power supply was a bit ok in my area (like 12hrs a day) until 2months ago when our transformer 'blew'. We are told it will take 500k to fix it. Uptil now we still waiting but am suspecting same phcn officials are removing some parts of the transformer to go fix other transformers. so far, there's no solution in sight.

its quite ludicrous that ppl think that the power situation can be changed just like going to a shop and buying a generating set and putting it on. if power is worth having in nigeria then, its worth waiting for. the best nigerians can do is to support this administration to succeed. coz that is the only way nigerians will profit from it. if this administration fails, it is still nigerians that will suffer.

August 5th last yrs was the last time we had electricity, it rained very brief one and The light was taken, 2weeks after we heard a maintenance was going on till January 9th...mind u the eediots keep bringing bills for non-prepaid users so on the D day of Subsidy removal, guys swung into action, busted the Nepa undertaking loot and set ablaze two big Massive Transformer... Since then we've been on our Own!
