I have a Samsung galaxy tab 8.9 with a SIM slot and I'll like to know how I can make calls with it. I understand its not designed to be used as a phone (to make calls) but some 3rd party apps cld be installed to enable this.

I thought there would be a previous topic about this but didn't find any.

Would be glad to get info on this too. I googled it and didnt find anything useful. Help us out guys

You can download skype and yahoo messenger to make video chats. This may be he best you can get.

and check gsm only.

if it was not designed to be used for making calls, you might need to root and install a custom ROM to get that feature in.

upgrade your android OS from honeycomb to Ice Cream Sandwich, then install these two files

If you have a Google voice number, you can use an app called Groove IP Lite, the quality is not the best, but it is ok. The only way to make calls using a tablet is utilising VoIP (voice over IP).
