An attempt by a woman tosmuggle snake into the SamuelOgbemudia stadium-venue ofPeoples Democratic Party (PDP)campaign rally in Benin onSaturday was foiled by vigilantpolicemen at the gate of thestadium.
Vice President Namadi Sambo,national and state leaders of andseveral thousandsof PDP supporters had convergedon the stadium to officially kick-start the election campaign of theparty’s candidate in the July 14governorship election in thestate, Gen. Charles Airhiavbere(retd.)
But the timely interception at themain gate of the stadium bypolicemen at the gate of thestadium averted what could havecreated a chaotic atmosphere,had the woman sneaked into thestadium with her deadly packageundetected.
The snake woman, adorned inpurple top and blue pair oftrousers, in company of threeyoung men, attracted thecuriosity of the mobile policemenscreening those going into thestadium when she attempted tojump the long queue.
Upon interrogation, the snake, acobra measuring about one metrewas discovered in a white roundtranspare
