Orikinla: The Nigerian First Lady Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan actually accused Nigerian leaders of causing the mass failures of school pupils in exams. She is right. All that money that our leaders are taking outside the country and stashing away in foreign accounts in western nations could have been used to upgrade school infrastructure and equipments, pay teachers and lecturers a decent salary and put money towards graduate and post-graduate research. |

I don't think students failing exams is bad. You won't have any (useful) exam with a 100% pass rate, right? Some must fail, some must succeed. Now, if she is using Nigeria's performance against foreign countries as her metric for failure/success, that would make more sense. |
