The National Secretariat from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), yesterday insisted on posting corps people to troubled states in some areas, protests not withstanding. It has therefore urged corps members to first are accountable to the orientation camps of the states of these primary assignment and later apply for deployment saying no request pertaining to change of posting to deployed states can be attended to at the Directorate Head office. NYSC authorities in Abuja, said it had empowered state coordinators to attend to relocation requests in their own states.

The NYSC also said it had concluded arrangement while using the state governments to put adequate security measures in position to safeguard the lives of corps members posted to their states. Director of Public Relations, Mrs. Abosede Aderibigbe, who made this known yesterday in Abuja, claimed, considering the current security situation in some areas that had resulted to corps people rejecting being posted to this sort of areas, the directorate had empowered state coordinators to attend to requests for redeployment. She, on the other hand, maintained that the NYSC rules for acceding to such requests remain marital or medical issues.

Aderibigbe in a statement made available to Daily Sun, stated that: “This is to inform almost all 2012 Batch ‘B’ Corps members and people that state governments and the NYSC operators had set up, measures to guarantee the stability to lives and properties connected with corps members deployed to camps for that ongoing orientation course. “Prospective corps members should therefore proceed to their respective camps for induction to the noble scheme.

“However, those who may have genuine reasons to seek for relocation out of their states of posting, should register first of their states of deployment and subsequently submit application there for concern. “The two grounds for consideration remain marital (for those people who are married) and Health (for those with extreme medical ailments) “Please realize that no request for change connected with posting to deployed states can be attended to at the directorate head office, Abuja as state coordinators have been empowered to attend to relocation requests. ”.
