Nnamdi Azikiwe Was A Tribalist? by buffny: 12:27pm On Jul 15, 2012 |
It would appear that the God of Africa has created the Ibo nation to lead the children of Africa from the bondage of the ages…The martial process of the Ibo nation at all ages of human history has enabled them not only to conquer others but also to adapt themselves to the role of preservers …The Ibo nation cannot shrink its responsibility from its manifest destiny. - NNAMDI AZIKIWE . AWOLOWOS RESPONSE. Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the acclaimed Yoruba leader: “It seemed clear to me that [Azikiwe’s] policy was to corrode the self-respect of the Yoruba people as a group; to build up the Ibo as a ‘master-race.’” |

oduasolja:And what is wrong with leading? That he said that does not mean Yorubas and Hausas are not equally born to lead? Your problem is that you look at everything from a tribalistic bias spec. Afam4eva(Will i ever be unbanned?) |

oduasolja: No mind them, ojare! That was why "nationalist" (sic!) Zik tried to lead the yorubas in 1951 and when they told him to sling his hooks, the same ibos who were purported created to lead others, label yorubas, tribalists. The ibos could not conquer us but under the guise of One nigeria, they want to run our affairs for us. |
