Politics / Re: List The Problems In Nigeria And Your Possible Solution by Basseti: 10:05pm On May 21, 2012
The biggest problems are POWER and ROADS.

Any government that decides to tackle this issue would have gone long way in making Nigeria an economic power house.

A lot of mouths will be fed and 80 percent of the restiveness that results in MEND, MASSOB, BOKO HARAM would have been eliminated.

Mikel, Terry, Ramires, Ivanovic, Meireles all missing the finals. Thats half the team!!!!!

Looks more like a pyrrhic victory to me but what the hell. Anything to see the look of anguish on those artistes from Barca!!!! Especially Mr. Leo Messi.

Only one set of fans will be more happier than Chelsea fans. Real Madrid fans!!!!

I think Torres should start paying Ramires.

When he first came to Chelsea, all he could was gallop like a donkey. Now he is simply UNPLAYABLE!!!!!

As for Terry, when will he stop with all this "agberoish" attitude? undecided Massive player for Chelsea when he is not busy boning somebody's else wife. Now I have to watch Bosingwa pretend to be a centre back??

You must be a foolish soul for trying to justify Ghadaffi 42 years of brutal regime and President Assad fatal crack down on his country men numbering thousands . . .

He is not foolish. Just one of those that has so much hatred for the West that it beclouds their sense of judgement.

Ghadaffi needed to go and he did, I dont care if it took the help of the West to make sure he left.

I hope Assad goes too.

And also the guy in Bahrain,

Fact is , I shed no tear when a dictator is pulled down from the heights of power. I dont care what and where the machinery that pulled him down came from.
Politics / Re: Nigeria Threatens To Leave Africa! Ghanian Media Claims by Basseti: 9:26pm On Feb 04, 2012

Ghana has relatively low crime rate although the country has recently seen an increasing rate of crime more especially armed robbery, due to mass unemployment and poverty,[65] in addition of endemic corruption in many government agencies and companies in Ghana, with the Ghana Police Service being the most corrupt institution in the country[66] and Ghana has also recently overtaken Nigeria as the E-fraud capital of the world.[67]

And my friends from Ghana always use this as an explanation:

The Nigerian immigrants, without valid travel documents, continue to illegally enter Ghana and have become a burden in Ghana,[70] with the vast majority being beggars in the cities of Ghana, mainly in Accra.[71] As of January 2012, Ghana is a very peaceful Christian country and is ranked as the 3rd most peaceful country in Africa and the 42nd most peaceful country in the world,[72] which has led to most of the crimes in Ghana being brought along with the Nigerian immigrants, such as passport fraud by falsifying Ghanaian passports,[73] drug trafficking, arms trafficking, armed robbery, rape, prostitution,[74] fraud (E-fraud, their infamous crimes dubbed 419 advance fee fraud and Nigerian scam), and other illegal activities.[7

Nigerians become beggars? shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked We can be a whole lot of things but beggars? Nahhhhh angry

Politics / Re: Tension In Onitsha Over Ejection Of Yoruba, Hausa Traders.reprisal? by Basseti: 5:47pm On Jan 22, 2012
Nairaland members are just despicable. And I wonder what kind of effort has been made on the side of the admin to curb this sort of misinformation.

The title of this thread cannot be further from the truth. I have been to the bridgehead in Onitsha and the number of Igbos and Hausas trading in the said area far surpasses yorubas.

Is the title implying that there is a selective purging of yorubas and hausas from the area while leaving the igbos to trade? Or is it just one of those threads designed to allow ethnic bigots display symptoms of their psychological syndrome?
Politics / Re: Subsidy Removal: Nigerians Made A Mistake Not Electing Buhari – El-Rufai by Basseti: 7:45am On Jan 08, 2012
Elections are meant to be won and lost. Buhari lost, so end of story.

Y'all are acting as if this was the first time he has ran and lost. Dude lost in 2003 and 2007 so kini big deal about his loss in 2011?  undecided
Buhari's supporters are sounding more like Hillary Clinton supporters post 2008. Just get with the program, its no longer cute crying over spilled milk.

Am not mouth piece for BH and never in support of killing, God forbid. What am saying is, the problem is beyond religious alone or BH Islamizing the world but like someone said, it is religio-politico-ethnic war they are waging, If I have seen the political side of our problem being injustice and others see it from religious perspective and someone else sees it from ethnic perspective, we come together to reason together but the truth is, the youths have solutions but our leaders will never listen to the masses to bring about change to our country. God bless you, I rest my case.

Lets just say that when it comes to BH, you know not what you are saying.

Boko Haram will be the first to disagree with you.
Politics / Re: Jonathan’s Govt Confused – Okogie by Basseti: 11:29pm On Dec 28, 2011
goshen360:

As a christian, am never in support of BH bombing churches anyway as churches are not the first place they started bombing. We are shouting more now because it has come to church bombing. Church bombing might have come along their mission anyway but the root of the problem is not more than religion and Islamization of the world.

Since you are now the mouth piece of BH, educate us on this mission of BH.

Boko Haram has spelt out what their mission is, they even gave you a clue in the name they chose. So we should disregard them and believe you?

And lets assume that you are right and somehow they are really against injustice, give us one action that they have taken that justifies that claim? Thats apart from killing and maiming of innocent civilians.

The attack on churches was not random neither was it spontaneous. Churches have been attacked before and burnt to the ground even before Jonathan dreamt of being a VeePee. Should we also attribute that to the agitation for justice? If so, you must have a different definition of justice than I do.
Politics / Re: Jonathan’s Govt Confused – Okogie by Basseti: 10:54pm On Dec 28, 2011
goshen360:

but we dont have to argue over this, there is injustice in leadership of Nigeria and hence, there cannot be peace where there is injustice not to talk of confused leadership.

You are yet to answer the question.

Simply put, whats the correlation between bombing of churches and agitating for social/economic equality?

And BTW, why do yo advise an Igbo man (that is the subject of this thread) to move to SW and SS (and then ''possible SE'', like it should be a last option for him)?

I believe she said "outside of their states of origin".

For those calling for the return of all southerners back to the south, I have called for that previously and still do. But its a sad commentary on the so-called "One-Nigeria". So after fighting to keep the nation one, one cannot live freely in it. Sad Sad Sad sad

Jonathan Goodluck is not a good President and he will never be, but the idea that Buhari is a better alternative is simply insane.

You just summarized my thoughts on the issue.

I was really amazed at the automatic rebranding of Buhari as a Messiah by his cohorts. I just kept scratching my head if this was the same Buhari of the Idiagbon era that we all learnt in Social Studies class undecided

The election was rigged heavily by both sides (surprise there, no); as it turns out we can only have one President. So enough of sour grapes and move on. Another election is coming up soon, and you can fire Jonathan then.

How does Gowon , a guy from Plateau state, serve as proof that the North is the most religious tolerant region in Nigeria? You need to lay off the pipe, my friend.
