So you mean I am lying that people are being paid 350 euro. Why don't you just show us that you are educated by Googling how much the government is paying residents in Ireland and those who are qualified for it. This one is not a matter of long talk. Many Nigerian students working part-time got their money yesterday and I shared a screenshot. The payment is available for anyone who is above 18 years and whose job was affected by the pandemic. Just try to do some research online to see for yourself.

You can also google the average price of a double bedroom in Limerick. I don't live in the remote part, I stay in Castletroy area very close to the UL campus. I am not sharing room with anyone. There are even rooms with lesser price sef but guess you know nothing.

Ignorant people everywhere displaying their folly online. You really know nothing. Use your data to research online and not watch porn. If after all this evidences I will post below and you are still doubting, then you know your village people have finally won.
6digitscomrade:
ignore him he’s up to no good he wants people to contact him for visa so he can guy them.. we are here anyway.. I will never understand the rationale behind his lies.. they are paying 350 yes but it’s for specific people.. employees and employers to cushion the effect.. it’s not for everybody and the rent he spoke of it’s a lie from the pit of hell.. anyway limerick it’s a rather small city perhaps it’s a very very remote part and sharing with roommates..or a Nigerian rented him a council room..

I shared pictures of my experience, you no gree. Someone shared information from the internet, you no still agree. But you want make we gree your own talk abi. You can't even make arguments cos you lack facts and points. You said people were not paid 350 euro, I showed you proof before you kept quiet and now you are still talking off point. I really pity for you. Ignorance is very bad.
Focusingmore:

Ireland is fantastic on paper, average in reality.

That's why I keep saying you can't understand things just by reading online.

Did you know that the high gdp in Ireland is bogus and most of the growth is due to the multi nationals?

They inflate the GDP to attract investors and lower their co operation taxes .

The 2008 recession exposed Ireland for what it is when most of those companies left.

Brah you don't know jack shit , Irish people are predominantly farmers... Everything else.... Mostly is via fdis.

All in Ireland is definitely better than Nigeria but a horrible place for an ambitious well educated young Nigerian.

that is what people don't understand. One has to develop himself/herself to become essential in a civilized country. The competition is real. It all boils down to what you can offer.
Phelixblaq:

Believe it bro, some people are just so dumb. You went to another mans country on a visitor visa without any skill and you refuse to develop yourself even after getting stay. You want to compare yourself with someone that went to the country on a study route with more information on how to build himself from the scratch??

You really don't know anything. I have really observed this. Ignorance, How can you claim to have lived in Ireland for over 20 years and seem not to know what is happening around you. That's bad. I said many people including Nigerians were paid 350 euro TODAY. Or are you still doubting it.

My rent which is 325 euro covers ALL the bills including gas, electricity e.t.c. It is clear that your life is different from mine.

YOU CAN BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU WANT. It's not my concern.
Focusingmore:

Let's assume you get 350 a week , spend 65 on shopping 240 per month, depending on your lifestyle there is more .

Eg I still have to pay bills like, electric and gas insurance, internet...

You're living a student lifestyle , that's why you think 350 EUR is money .

what you are saying and what I am saying are two different things. Why are you bringing up the issue of struggle in Ireland. I never said Ireland is the best country in the world. I just shared my coronavirus lockdown experience and said the government is paying 350 euro per week to people before you started your long talk. I earn above that amount per week. My work is even still on because we offer essential services. My weekly wage was increased last week after government announced increment of unemployment fund from 203 to 350 euro.

You can still create your own thread to narrate your experience. It's a free world. Don't criticize me for sharing mine.

Focusingmore:

Ive worked with several companies, they don't promote you for years.

When you look back your life is gone.

You have bigger better opportunities in the uk.

Please tell me how many multi nationals are in Ireland all together.

Are you telling me you can't see people are struggling? For real.

Half of the Irish population are on low income jobs like retail, admin , hospitality etc.

Brah be honest it's not great, after many years you'll realise you're making a big mistake especially if you are well educated.

Trust me , I'm not trying to be mean, just honest.

It seems you are yet to roll with the right people. I have friends who finished from UL and Griffith College in Limerick. Two are now working in Facebook in Dublin while some are working in Amazon, Johnson and Johnson and other good companies. While some people are not making it in life, others are doing fine. You are only telling us about the negative side as if there are no positive sides too.

You should understand that people have different luck. So don't think everybody will struggle because you did.

The questions should be what services can you offer?

What are you really good at?

Have you equipped yourself with the necessary skills?

Nigerians who are good in IT and financial services are doing very fine here in Ireland. Even the health professionals are also doing fine here.
Focusingmore:
.

Have Irish people made it yet?

Please Google homelessness in Ireland.

Money doesn't grow on trees unless you're into fraud.

A student Nigerian lawyer I met recently cleans toilets in a care home and she has a few months left to secure a job before her visa runs out, unfortunately Ireland is very racist, they'll hire Indians before blacks.

Majority here are into taxi, care work , security, some have African shops, the few who have office type jobs don't have wages because the household income is low even though their gdo per capita is high on paper due to some dodgy tax deals used to lure investors.

You are depressed doesn't mean that I am depressed or that others are. People are even depressed in Nigeria as well as USA and other countries. so what is actually your point now. The post was talking about the COVID19 lockdown in Ireland and how the government is helping the residents but it seems you have digressed. You are now talking another thing. Please stay on course.

You can create your own thread to write about how people are losing their loved ones on a daily basis and cannot even attend the funerals.
axeman10:

Thank You for admitting it's a shared apartment..that buttresses my point that you are misleading Nigerians.. The fact remains people are depressed as they cannot make as much as they are making if working...but We are all willing to stay home and fight this virus together... Stop deceiving Nigerians that people are happy and living in paradise in the face of this pandemic.

People are losing their loved ones on a daily basis and cannot even attend the funerals.. You are here talking about being happy staying at home..

I won't comment on this thread again. Do have a good day.

So it's now a crime to live in a shared apartment. We are 4 Nigerians living in a 4 bedroom Duplex. Everyone has his/her bedroom. I stay in a double bedroom. I said 50-70 euro for groceries..... So Jack Daniels has now become grocery right? I can really see your level of reasoning.

Anyway, your moniker says it all.

Enjoy your day.
axeman10:

Stop lying, this is a shared apartment..and if there are 3-4 bedrooms in that house.. You are talking about €1500-€2,000 with other tenants in the house.. An average person earning 38k - 78k a year with a wife and kids..will not share 2-3bed apartment with other people.

That foreigners share rooms and live like 'isale eko' residents does not mean the locals live like that. People are actually depressed, they can't go out and make money... Stop lying and misleading people... Who in the world live on 50 eur a month as you stated.. Bloody liar.. Money wey no buy one bottle of Jack Daniels.

It appears who are the one misinforming people. The average rent in Limerick is between 300-500 Euro. You might get more or even less, it depends on the location and amenities of the apartment. Go to rent.ie and check.
axeman10:

No, I did not say the govt did not pay residents to cushion the effect of the jobs lost.. I also stated the band of people affected.. Other categories of workers are getting lower say €203 a week.

As I stated, those getting 350 a week will still have to pay their rents/mortgages, electricity & gas bills.. Only that it is deffered and no bank will pressure them to pay. Banks ain't no Santa. These people are actually losing money staying at home.. OP was making it look like they are making money staying home.

See an average rent in Limerick:

You seriously don't know what you are saying. I EMPHATICALLY SAID PEOPLE INCLUDING NIGERIAN STUDENTS AND PART-TIME WORKERS WERE PAID 350 EURO TODAY.... You can quote me anywhere. Many Nigerians received their alert today even those who were earning below 150- 200 euro before the crisis started. Students are allowed to work 20 hours a week during school session and 40 hours a week during holiday. Those who were affected by the crisis are being paid 350 euro per week, nothing less.

Your rent in Dublin may be expensive but I pay 325 euro a month in Limerick. It is my experience I shared not yours......

Please go and enlighten yourself by reading about the COVID19 unemployment funds.
axeman10:

Why do you people like misinforming Nigerians??

The €350 is for those earning between €38k-75k per annum (that is a minimum of €730 per week), whose jobs were affected by the lock down and cannot work from home.. Or business owners who were forced to close their businesses but still have to pay staff.

Surely, you are not getting this money...otherwise you'll be well informed. I live in Dublin and rent is €1000-1500 a month... That money is not even enough to pay mortgage... Stop spewing thrash and misinforming people.
Nigerian government is not doing enough but don't make it look like you are in paradise in Ireland either. No government in the world is father Christmas.

Local man had to go for shopping today. Had to restock my groceries. Social distancing is very well observed in all the supermarkets and shops as measures have been set in place to fight the virus. Some shops only allow one customer at a time to enter. I spent about 32 euro on my shopping today and hope the foodstuff will last me for a while.
