Hi
Please how do the UK border police track immigration history. I noticed passport are stamped and fingerprint is taking on arrival. However, on departure there's no checks by border police and no stamp also on passport.

How do they track individual immigration history?

Thanks

Same question I was asking before.

Answer:

A new scheme is being phased in at UK border crossings, so that UK immigration can collect data on all passengers leaving the country. The information is obtained by staff working for airlines, ferry companies, etc who record details of every traveller leaving on a commercial flight, or by sea or by rail. The data collected is then passed on to the Home Office.

A Home Office spokesperson said: "The government wants the checks to identify individuals who are in the UK illegally. This means that passport and travel details will be transmitted to the Home Office.

The information will then be collated and added to Home Office data, where it can be accessed if the government needs it.

So I currently work as a system admin in a new generation bank where I earn almost 500k while also having a side hustle that pays me 400dollrs monthly, I’m thinking of relocating as my sis and her husband have been on my case to migrate, I am in my early 30 no serious relationship just figuring if japa is the way cos my remote job actually pays me better if I’m here than leaving just need advice on this.

You are an IT guy, it depends on what you want.

Is not bad to travel and then spend the next 5 to 7yrs getting a new passport and building an international reputational even if you decide to come back home in future you can do that easily with remote job.

Please when did you order?

This worked. I used the button down/thumbs down button option. And it allowed me to send a mail to support. They replied almost immediately and gave me $42 one month free subscription to apologize. I thought people said it usually takes them many days before customer service respond. These people responded almost immediately. And apologized for the delay and said I should be patient. Thank you bro for telling us this. Atleast one month sub have been paid for like that.
Edit: My hardware shipped 10 minutes after contacting support.
Nice one, Happy you got the 42bucks and also your stuff shipped

VERY IMPORTANT!

When you get your Starlink tracking number, call DHL on this number 0803 907 7000 and make sure you update the details on the shipment. You can also do it on the DHL Express app.

This is very important. I know 3 people that had 1 week extra delay because of wrong address / no phone number on the package.

The problem also is that Starlink USA ships it to Starlink Nigeria and uses your name as Care/Of C/O. So please make sure you contact DHL and update your information with them IMMEDIATELY you get your tracking number.

I was driving when I got my tracking number, I parked and called DHL Lmao. Me I no like story at all! And I got my item very quickly, the DHL guy even told me it's good I called because they wrote rubbish on they package.

You can even tell them to just hold it at a DHL office especially the one at the airport so you can go and pick it up yourself. But note that because it was shipped to Starlink Nigeria and your name used as C/O, ONLY YOU can pick it up personally. Nobody else but ONLY YOU in person with your ID of course. Sometimes this is simpler than allowing them to try to deliver and making mistake up and down. Lol my guys went through this but then they never did the information update that I talked about earlier. 1 week after e reach Lagos them never see Starlink and they are all in Lagos. Meanwhile I got mine same day lol.

Great, thanks for the heads up 👍

How did you contact them?

Jaytee123jay:

How do you reach out to their support team
There's no contact nor email address you could message on the website

Yes I know it is difficult to figure it out.

So the step is click on the shipping write ups they have on the page .

After reading you will see below are you satisfied with what you read.

Click on the thumbs down button then it will show option to contact support.

Try it and let me know if you are able to.

Happy to add some screenshots of the step let's collect small from El*un

My order date was 5th Feb.

They've changed estimated shipping date twice.

Now estimated shipping date shows 5th to 15March even though today is now 21st March grin

But just incase you don't know reaching out their support team and making some noise can get you a free 1month credit.

I'll like to ask any other person in the house, please do you know how to request for the BRP accompany letter email after collection of passport? Thank you.

Hello Nairalander,

I need your suggestion and advice because I just acquired 7 hectares of land for plantain farming in ekiti which will be planted by February next year, the place is secured and free from bandits or herdsmen but everybody is telling me to do relocation instead of farming even though I’ve invested up to 4 million naira into this project because I love Agric…. Please which one is the best advice for me right now as I know how I can make it big by planting up to 10,000 suckers of plantain on this land and get the return in a year, is there market for large production of plantain?

Mods please help me to push this to front page as this is my only option of surviving

Seun lalasticlala Mynd44 nlfpmod

With the current condition of Nigeria, I'd advice you move and when you settle abroad you can startup your business back home.

I was in your shoe sometime in 2021 and moving was the best step I took and now I have been able to setup the same business I was contemplating to set up or move.

If you are traveling legally to a developed country it will be a better investment.

Help urgently

I want to pay deposit with money in my dollar account, with my dollar card.

The question is that I want to be sure what rate I’ll be charged, black market rate, oanda rate or CBN

Please I need a response urgently

The money in your dollar account is USD and your school fees is in GBP I assume?

The USD will be converted to GBP in standard USD to GBP rate so no black market stuff. You can simulate the exchange rate on wise.com
It will give you a near-accurate value

Please does anyone know about KLM flights from Nigeria to UK. Is it direct and most importantly do I need a transit visa or not.

Note
I need an airline to UK, stop over is irrelevant for me, what is important is the price and I don't want to be looking for transit visa. Also if you know any other airline that I don't need transit visa and the price is good, please explain as in I need to economize. I'm a novice in all this. Thank you

KLM is not a direct flight from Nigeria to UK you will transit in Netherlands. Also with a Nigerian passport you need a transit visa.

Based on my personal experience most companies won't give students the opportunity because the 20hrs limit.

But you may be lucky to get a company looking for just part-time staff.

So I started my programming journey some months ago and I realized that I can't go on coding for long hours without the consumption of coffee or any energy drink. I take like 2 cups of coffee everyday for maximum productivity. I want to know maybe there's an alternative to this or maybe it's a routine I have to live with since most programmers do too.

Is a thing of the mind I have been programming fulltime for more than 5years and I don't need coffee to code.

I'm a tech bro, I currently do 1.5M Monthly in Nigeria and I just got a job offer last month in the UK for 4K pounds monthly(after tax)

My guys there be complaining about bills and how hard it is to save and all over there

So, If you were me, which would you pick and why?

Modified: will also like to hear from those in the UK; what do you think guys?...Now that you know how it is over there, what would you advice?

@lalasticlala...please help push to front page for more engagements

Talking from experience, I'm a software engineer based in Newcastle.

1.5m in Nigeria will give you a good life in Nigeria.

4k GBP after tax will also give you a good life in the UK especially if you are far from London eg you are in Northern England where the cost of leaving is relatively low.

The two deals are okay for a good life.

Now the question I will ask you is where do you want to be and why?

Remember people will always shout Nigeria is bad, Nigeria is insecure blabla etc.

People here in the UK won't be very open to telling you the things they face here too, here is not also perfect it has its own flop but most are cancelled.

Goodluck.

Elders, please how does bus transportation work up north. I stay in Peterlee. Do I need to buy tickets ahead before boarding or I can just pay in the bus like normal danfo in Naija lol? .

Secondly, Is there a ticket that works for all service providers like arriva, stagecoach etc?

You can always pay in the bus with cash or your ATM card. If you have a steady route getting a weekly or monthly bus pass may help you save in the long run.

Career / Re: Should I Use My Life Savings To Learn Solar Installation? by emmyvet(m): 12:16am On Jan 25, 2022
DantataIsMyGuy:
Hello all. I'm a 25year old unemployed graduate. I finished my NYSC last year and i was able to save less than 50k. After spending 6months without any forthcoming job, I've used about 20k out of the money and all I'm left with in this life is 30k. I was introduced to a solar installation class during Nysc and i decided to give it a try.

The registration is about 21k plus transport to the venue will cost me about 30k for the 6months. I was told there would be a certificate after the training, but I'm still a bit skeptical about the course because i don't know how lucrative the skill is, because i once read a nairaland post on how a guy bought his panels and fixed it himself after going through the manuals.

So my question now is, should i invest my life savings on this course? Is it lucrative? Will the certificate matter at all? Can i build a career from it?

I just opened this account to hide my identity.
Please lalasticlala help me move this to front page please

Only solar installation is not enough unless you will get practical experience on how to also fix inverters which requires more than 6months.

Have you thought of learning programming?

Please advise house, I am considering getting a Honda Accord (Eod) for Uber, the seller was honest enough to advise me not to use it since it’s a V-6 engine. So what if it was 4 plugs,
Please what is the best car to use for Uber on a budget of 650 to 800 Nigerian used

For a car that will be used for business, getting a car within your budget may not give you peace of mind. Why not use the money as a deposit for a car loan and get a foreign used Toyota that will serve you better.

Hello guys, let me go straight to the point without wasting much time.

I'm a programmer working and living in Nigeria but I recently got a job in Europe, Spain to be precise with an opportunity to travel and live in Barcelona.

Every documentation has been concluded pending the issuance of a travel visa .

But I recently got another opportunity to work in Germany, Berlin to be precise with a higher pay although the documentation has not commenced yet.

Right now I'm confused on which of the offers to choose and I need advice please.

The offer from Spain is 90% set while that of Germany is about 50% ready but both of them are very feasible.

Have you compared cost of living in the two cities https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_cities.jsp?country1=Germany&country2=Spain&city1=Berlin&city2=Barcelona

I think you need to do research about the 2countries don't just compare salary compare other values that interests you.

Personally I will go for Berlin.
