1. Gowon was Ojukwu's junior in the army. Even by seniority Gowon should not have been selected as head of state.

5. The killings of Igbos transcended the military to even civilians getting killed in the north and Lagos. This prompted Ojukwu to insist that the reprisals had become a full genocide - ethnic cleansing if you like. As the most senior Igbo officer at the time, he had to spearhead the agitations for secession from Nigeria.

Second, these samples were extracted from people who were still alive at the time of extraction because those people have had contact with those who possibly died of COVID-19 or were showing symptoms. So it is expected that most of them will test +ve to COVID-19.

At least that shows they are doing the tests and not just pushing out figures like u posited in that response to Izzou.

I did not tell you they did not test anyone in Kano. I said they did not test most of the DEAD people. Also, I said they rejected many of the initial samples from Kano such that if they tested 100 samples, they probably had received 500 samples (meaning they rejected 400 of them). And the only few dead people who got tested had their samples collected before they died. Some of those people tested negative. Therefore, if 300 people had died in Kano out of which the NCDC had only collected the samples for 20 people (prior to their deaths). And of that 20, say 10 tested positive to COVID-19. You cannot come out to announce that MOST of the deaths in Kano were COVID-19 related. Whether true or not, you do not have the data to back that statement.

I wasn't even talking about dead victims, in fact I was among the first people who agreed that most Kano residents who died recently were buried before 4pm Salat prayers according to Muslim rites and no autopsy could've been carried out to ascertain cause of deaths.

I am confused by this. The only reason there was much hoopla about Kano is because of the many reported deaths that nobody could give an explanation for. You do know that not one of the people who had died had their samples tested? That is, there was NO postmortem COVID-19 test.
