The attitude of both academics and non-academics staff in Nigerian public tertiary institutions is quite distasteful. Most of these workers readily treat students as trash and I still don’t understand why. Currently trying to finish clearance so I can go to camp but it seems these people are hellbent on frustrating students no matter your status (except of course you’re ready to rub their palm or you have a valuable connection with them). I laugh at those who readily support ASUU and NASI against the Nigerian government, if they know the kind of nonchalant attitude tertiary institutions staff display towards students ehn, they would even want to give award to FG for maltreating them too. Tell the guy to keep on meeting those he thinks can help out. If he can get the VC or deputy VCs contact, he should go directly to them to explain his situation. 19 Likes 2 Shares |

BlaqFaze: This is exactly what most people don’t understand. Rohr team always have a way to play better away and if he was here, Nigeria would have scored at least a goal in Ghana to make this match easier for us. Check Rohr’s qualifier records in away matches, he scored in more than 75% of the matches even if the team has a lackluster performance. 8 Likes |

Brendaniel: Then the African people needs to do more in the selection of their own government so the government would always want what the African people want, or do you want to still blame the West for that? |
Foreign Affairs / Re: EU To Fund Purchase Of Weapons For Ukraine by HolarQD(m): 11:26am On Feb 28, 2022 |
Brendaniel: You’re quite right in your postulation but the problem is still the subtle blaming of West. It’s human for people to always look out for what benefits them, the West aren’t evil for that. I can assure you that Africans would behave worse if we’re to be the fittest and wield the kind of power the West has today. So you see, it’s always going to be like this and I repeat the West has no blame (overt or covert) because of you keep on talking about the West that way then you’re acknowledging that Africans can’t make their own decisions. And to add, Africans would always support the west because among the fittest of the world today, the West provides the best form of support to the Africans, this is the reality that some of the east (China for example) is adopting the same style of providing support so as to earn the goodwill of Africans. 1 Like |

Brendaniel: Now, I would help you understand my point. Remember biology? This world is the survival of the fittest. The West are currently the fittest in the world and so are making the decisions for others. If Africans want to make their own decisions then they have to make themselves very fit enough. Africans are a set of people that easily look for who to blame for their misfortunes and they never want to accept their own weaknesses. The West have not always been the fittest in the world, they actually worked their butt off to take them to the position they’re today and whether you like it or not, they would always make decisions that would favour them and them alone. 1 Like 1 Share |

Brendaniel: Why would you expect them to ask for what “Africans want”? Did Africa ask the West what they want? The problem with your analysis is that you think the West owes Africans anything, when in reality, no one owes anyone anything. All human actions are done for a reason, which is usually more than often, selfish in nature. Until Africans start taking their own life serious without any recourse to the West, the better for them. The West won’t make Africa better, because it’s not Africans than made West better, Africans are with sole responsibility to make Africa better. |

Ramon92: The little prob I have with peeps like you is the rush to denigrate anyone that tends to tilt towards being Pro-West, you guys are quick to rebuff them saying they get their news from western media (who you’ve termed propagandists) but fail to acknowledge the fact that you get your news from some form of media that other can also give names to. In the issue of international politics, emotions have a lot more to influence than facts and this is something that’s applicable to everyone, whether pro-west or pro-east. On Libya and Gaddafi, the reality is that the indigenous Libyan people took up arms against gaddafi, just because they’re supported by NATO doesn’t change the fact that the Libyan people led the fight against Gaddafi - Until a pro-east analyst accept this irrefutable fact about Libya, I won’t take the person serious. |

Picking a side in the Russia - Ukraine faceoff for some Nigerian Nairaland self acclaimed analysts is a matter of emotions devoid of clearly worded objectivity. For the Pro-West, Putin is a dictator and should be stopped at all cost. Most don’t even understand background nor ramifications of some actions and in actions of Ukraine and her western allies and supporters. They also forget easily about the cuban missile crisis and how US and her allies reacted. For the Pro-Putin, The West are hypocrites with their continuous media propaganda. Some pro-Putin are also “haters” of the American system and people and so are happy for any possible destruction of the American people. What both parties lack is objectivity to analyze the situation based on its own peculiar premises which will enable them to reach far reaching logical conclusions that the only people to suffer from the shenanigans of both the West and Putin are the innocent Ukrainian people who might not recover from the destruction this shameful show of power would cause. No matter who’s right or wrong, the only results of war is destruction. 21 Likes 1 Share |

CharleyBright: You are the one that missed the point. 24 best years/seasons where premiered when social media was not the “thing”. GOT was premiered when social media was already a “thing” and that’s why the traction was gained and momentum sustained by GOT promoters. Imagine 24 being promoted as a new show now, I can bet with you that the followership would be something crazy. 24 cut across all things a series should analyze and the plot run so deep and real that everyday people can resonate with it. And about the lady introduced in season 9, whether or not she was to replace jack isn’t something I am concerned with, the fact is 24 has a better plot than GOT. The only reason anyone would think otherwise is because of social media traction gotten by GOT and that was duly aided by the actions of the promoter on social media. 1 Like |

CharleyBright: You’re quite wrong with your submissions. 24 first season premiered in 2001 while that of GOT premiered in 2011, that’s a whole 10 years difference where social media has been a “thing” already. If 24 was to be aired now, it would sure get more traction than GOT - this is an opinion that’s hold by many industry critics. Talking about deep plot and 24 been centered around Jack Bauer doesn’t make it any less intriguing and suspense-filled. The 24 plot is quite deeper (in my own opinion). 24 wasn’t produced again because Kiefer Sutherland wasn’t interested and he instead started Designated Survivor. You don’t expect Jack not to get older and his aging doesn’t in anyway take anything from the fact that 24 has a better plot than GOT. GOT lived mainly on social media hysteria and mob culture just like Blacklist nothing exceptional apart from the bogus budget and parading of stars. To me, Prison break has an even better plot than GOT. GOT was quite okay tho. |

Gr8lex: Exactly what I want to say as a reply to that poster. The only reason 24 didn’t get the same attention as GOT is simply Social Media. All aspects of life was covered on 24, nothing was left out and it was so real that you can imagine happenings of the film. 24, to me, is the greatest series ever produced. |

jaxxy: We’re quite in the same page. The onus is on the players as professionals to prove their worth. All this distractions would always be there no matter who the coach is, because as a people, Nigerians generally like unnecessary show offs. The players need to get their head in the game at those crucial moment when the ovation is loud so they can maintain the right energy and tempo. This is something that the coach can’t do except the players are ready to step up. Nigerian polithiefcians and elites would always rush to associate with the team when they’re winning and it’s left for the players themselves to set their priorities right. 1 Like |

jaxxy: For the distractions to get to them shows they’re quite unprofessional. Also, my submission isn’t about this AFCON alone, it’s a recurring issue that I have noticed with the super eagles. When the ovation is loudest, it’s always easier for them to fumble. And this has a lot to do with the players psychology. |
Politics / Re: Burkina Faso: Nigeria Strongly Condemns Coup, Demands Return Of Civil Rule by HolarQD(m): 8:25am On Jan 25, 2022 |
Looking at the Nigerian situation, one wonders why, after so many years of negligent leadership in the name of democracy, there has been no courageous move by the Nigerian army to rescue the nation. But then, when one considered, albeit carefully, the cause of the rot in Nigerian leadership system, then one accept that the Nigerian Army leadership system is more ineffective and corrupt than their democratic counterparts. This reality, confirms that the Nigerian people seemed to be doomed in all fronts, because there’s apparently lack of hope or succor coming from anywhere. This situation in Burkina Faso, is virtually obtainable in most African countries because like that of Nigeria, all systems of leadership is ineffective and senselessly corrupt. To move forward, there’s need for Africans to create a form of government away from military autocratic and democratic systems. Evidence has shown that these two systems has contributed little or nothing to the development of most African countries. Africans need to understand that the emotional and mental capacity, socio-economic characteristics, cultural and moral ideology, religiosity and spirituality plays major roles in choosing a leadership system that works for a group of people. Democracy, same as military autocracy has not and can not work to develop any African country to the extent where Africa will be respected all over the world. Researchers should do more to create an hybrid kind of system that would be effective in leadership administration of the African people. 11 Likes 3 Shares |

Doyou2019: This is the reality most Nigerians find it difficult to accept. Nigeria super eagles problem is not tactical or physical, it’s majorly psychological. Our players are dispassionate especially when it matters most. The best time super eagles played well in the last 15 years is when they’re written off (especially after several bad performances), and the worst time is when they’re been praised (after some good performances). How NFF doesn’t notice this pattern beats me. There’s a serious need for proper psychological evaluation for super eagles players going forward. No matter your skill or experience, once there’s lack of passion, the player should be dropped. This is the only way super eagles can achieve something tangible. Rohr (although with a boring game style) was able to some extent to psyche up the players at times (reason why his turnout is the best after Keshi among the super eagles coaches in the last 15 years) but Nigerians felt he was the problem not knowing the players are actually the problem. Even Guardiola would fail if nothing is done about those players passion and seriousness (especially when it matters most) does not improve. 1 Like |

MT: This is why I would always insist super eagles problem is majorly passion and seriousness. Our boys aren’t passionate enough especially when it’s needed for them to be. Yesterday match, right from the first half, showed a super eagles that wasn’t serious nor passionate about wining. They’re easily carried away by small wins and so always found wanting when it matters most. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Sports / Gernot Rohr: An Unnecessary Vilification by HolarQD(m): 9:30am On Nov 19, 2021 |
In the history of coaching super Eagles, only Westerhof and Late Keshi can be said to have a better turnover than Rohr yet Nigerians won’t stop disparaging this coach who gave them better experience of qualifying to competitions without heartaches the nation was used to in the recent years before his appointment. Before 2013 Nations cup, super eagles failed to qualify for 2011 nations cup (losing a match at home in the process - Almighty Siasia was the coach if I am correct), I didn’t see Nigerians insulting siasia as much as they have done to Rohr. In the process of wining AFCON 2013, Nigeria drew their first two matches (their opponents equalized in the dying minutes of both games), won Cape Verde with two penalties to qualify. So many Nigerians already wrote them off back then, only to start supporting them after they won Ivory Coast - a performance that boosted their confidence and propelled them to go on to win the competition. Yet Keshi resigned because of lack of appropriate support. Same Kesh would end up not qualifying Nigeria to the 2015 nations cup and he was sacked in the process. 2017 still no show for the super eagles at AFCON. Come in Gernot Rohr, in his first assignment, qualified Nigeria to the World Cup convincingly, not losing any match - in a group that included Cameroon (AFCON 2017 champions), Algeria (Who went on to win AFCON 2019) and Zambia (AFCON 2012 champions). Qualified again for AFCON convincingly (still didn’t lose any match). 2019 Nations cup, beat the likes of Cameroon, South Africa and Tunisia to claim third place, losing to the eventual winners Algeria. To those that want to hang Rohr because of lack of attractive football, tell me exactly, when last super eagles played attractive football (I watch super eagles very well - the last time they played attractively was during 2018 qualifiers and the 2019 AFCON). Rohr is not the super eagles problem, the players attitude is mostly the problem, they don’t see qualifiers (especially against low ranked team) as something they need to pull their “all” in. Rohr would qualify the super eagles for World Cup and also have a better outing at the AFCON but the NFF would be making a very grave mistake to relieve him of those duties. Those calling for Rohr’s sack lack the ability to see through super eagles players mental and tactical abilities and how the competition they’re playing in affects these players. Rohr sure do have his incompetences but with all he has done calling for his sack is not the right thing to do now! |

Princedapace: Super eagles comfortably beat Algeria in Nigeria on their way to Russia 2018 and they defeated Tunisia in 2019 third place match with this same set of players (only Moses and Mikel are the notable difference). Sports / Re: Super Eagles Bag Nervy Draw Vs Cape Verde, Reach 2022 WCQ Playoff Round by HolarQD(m): 7:35pm On Nov 16, 2021 |
The super eagles would definitely qualify for Qatar. A lot of naysayers keep predicting doom for super eagles but it’s quite unnecessary. On their way to wining AFCON 2013, the super eagles started poorly with two draws and only won Cape Verde with two penalties to get out of the group stage, I can remember vividly how so many people wrote them off against Ivory Coast and how they went on to win the trophy. Super eagles have always had a generational “lack of concentration, concern and seriousness” problem especially against low ranked teams or in less important competitions. A typical Super eagles would be more concerned and serious when playing friendlies against Brazil than they would be when playing against Liberia in a World Cup qualifier match. I strongly believe super eagles would do well in AFCON 2021 and qualify for World Cup comfortably. 33 Likes 2 Shares |
