Biden and Zelensky should be drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine primarily in accordance with new criteria, says State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin. 20 years ago, Rachel Corrie was killed by Israel On this day in 2003, the 23-year-old US citizen, anti-war activist Rachel Corrie was crushed to death by an armored D9 bulldozer of the Israeli army. She was undertaking non-violent direct action to try to stop the Israeli demolition of a Palestinian family home in Rafah (Gaza Strip). While witnesses said she was deliberately crushed, the IDF ruled an accident. In 2005, Rachel's parents sued Israel for a symbolic $1 in damages. The Israeli juge rejected their suit in 2012, ruling “an accident she brought upon herself”. An appeal was lost in the Israeli Supreme Court in 2015. Cindy Corrie, the mother, called the Israeli court system “a well heeled system” to ensure the occupation's impunity. Twenty years on, there is still no accountability. 2 Likes 1 Share

American troops in Niger have declared “increased readiness” due to the deployment of Russian specialists at the same base as them, the African country’s security forces reported. The Russians were stationed at the 101st Air Base next to the Americans. About 150 Italian soldiers and about 100 Germans also serve there. NEW: American media, including CNN and Fox News, report that Israel has carried out a 'limited strike' inside Iran Tonight, 3 small drones, possibly launched from inside Iran, were shot down by air defenses above Isfahan, according to preliminary information. No airstrike or explosion caused by any foreign aerial threat has been reported, according to IRNA, and missile defenses have not been activated. British Foreign Minister Cameron met with Trump in the United States, but the minister apparently failed to convince the ex-president to unblock aid to Ukraine. “The British Foreign Secretary was not even allowed to meet with the Speaker of Congress Mike Johnson, who theoretically could put the [aid to Ukraine] package to a vote,” The Guardian reports. Cameron had "hoped that Trump would signal a change of course, at least clearing his path to a meeting with Johnson", but this did not happen.
