On March 15th,
I bought a deal posted by Omicpet on behalf of New Orleans Picker (I don't know him)

On April 7th,
I messaged Omicpet concerning the said item. He said it was ready since and he dropped it at our friend's shop but I wasn't informed (that was the period wwu casted)

On April 13th,
Same phone was shipped down to me in Abuja alongside other phones from other shippers.
As usual, all phones were being inspected when I noticed something strange about the iPhone X bought from Omicpet and delivered.
I instantly made a video of the phone. The screen is not working perfectly.

Omicpet did not respond to me until I had his friend talk to him and he responded on April 22nd.
He said he has told the picker about it and he hasn't given feedback on it. That he will need some time.

Phone was returned for Omicpet to pick it as I kept reminding him to give an update.

April 28th Omicpet said picker agreed to pay only part of the screen. Then I asked him who will bear the rest. Then he said 2nd option is for me to hold on until he gets another one for replacement.

Anytime I ask him, he will say no replacement yet. Until he told me the Picker said I should message him which I did on May 8. He told me same thing that I should still have more patience.

On May 10th, I messaged him that he sold a bad phone which I notified Omicpet immediately. So why telling me to have patience and for how long. Ordinarily phone should be replaced instantly or I get a refund.
Then he said this in his own words: "See if YOU CANT HAVE PATIENT NOTHING I CAN DO.."

Since then no word from him, Omicpet and phone is in lag. Today makes it 2months and 4days after I paid 188,000 to Omicpet for the iPhone X. Everyone can calculate what that can generate in 2months.

Everyone is acting nonchalant about it. I messaged Lionlee, maybe he's too busy, he didn't respond. So the only way out is for us to resolve it openly.

And more than 2months of waiting is not a child's play. So I'm surprise someone is preaching patience to me.

I have called USPS, the regional USPS and inspection USPS, they have all confirmed my package was delivered at your address.

I have sent all the proof and the number to contact them easily, yet no one is discussing about this Phone.

Is it that your people have lost my phone in your hub.
Again, my phone didn't signed at post office but was delivered to your address.

I will bring everything and all the proof here on nairaland, let the whole world judge us.

I have tried to resolve this on our own and no one is listening to me.

We received tracking information from the seller that shows the item was delivered to your address or will be arriving shortly.
they insist the tracking worked.

here what what the seller said
Buyer, we had contacted the post office and were informed that the item cannot be reported lost or stolen due to it being signed by your name. Had it had a signature of someone else or had some kind of proof showing it could have been stolen but according to the post office it’s pretty cut and dry. You clearly signed for you package and are now claiming otherwise

About your 2nd question, I can't give an answer to that (we work with approved signatures and for security reasons, we can't reveal those signatures to the public and the signature on your package is definitely not among). About your 1st question, for criminal reasons.

We'll do a final check at USPS and hopefully, they'll provide the details. Expect word from the team between the 16th and 18th.

Until Specuit Express is present in all states in Nigeria (excluding trouble-zoned states) asides her presence within Lagos, Isheri, Sagamu & Ikorodu, we prefer using a company slush with funds so that if a client's package goes missing, we can settle out of court or go to court to retrieve that money for a client - and if you, the client, fail to send an explicit notice taking away responsibility from us while using transport company, sorry but we can't help you.

We're not interested in the recurrent revenue & profits from that. Despite knowing lots of drivers in ANIDS, YSG & GUO, we don't use them because it could be an atom of infidelity in a driver and N1m+ gets washed down the drain. Who are you going to hold responsible - drivers who earn paltry sums or companies that will approach you with phrases of deniability?

We love speed but if it becomes a threat to safety, safety replaces it as first. And this is one of the complex structures here that ensures that safety remains so if speed is too much of a disaster - because while you're thinking of a unit of phone or 5 units of phones, we're thinking beyond that to thousands of units of phones plying same route.

4. In any case you don't understand how it happens here, permit me to explain: we don't lose clients' packages; the margin of error for that here's too slim and that informs the choices of travel we use here: from Planes -> Ships -> Trains -> Ferries -> Vehicles -> Bikes, etc.

You can request for our Safety Record for the past 3 years (you'd be amazed) - and when we lose an item (an item actually delivered to us), we try to reverse-track to find it and if we don't, we settle it either by replacement or a refund. That's what it means to run a company: we win major, we lose minor; we win most, we lose few.

5. And most importantly, your issue isn't with the "no refund" because I mentioned so too and you didn't launch into same diatribes you launched into against the team player. The issue is with being attended to by another and being told that.

After advising you on what to do and telling you what's been done, you insisted that it's "childless talk", "nonsense" and so many other things; you failed to contact your seller for so long until I authorized that your mails not be replied so that you'd do the needful because you were asked again and again.

FYI please, if you don't respect anyone who works with me despite same team player according you respect as a human, I don't have any respect for you and it doesn't matter how much you bring to the table of Specuit.

since you are receiving the packages on my behalf, how did you suggest i contact post office? when your team are already there?
why is it so hard to go to post office and request for the details of the person that collected my package?
why is it hard to tell post office you didnt receive this item?

@ Johnpaul2k2 this issue has been going on for a while and I guess you guys should reach compromise on how to resolves things and let everybody be happy.

Let me give you a hint. Next time you buy or ebay, when making payment, you can write a message to seller saying "hey, this item is for my friend/cousin/brother. Kindly pack it very well" that way if something happens, you will defend yourself ssying the client didnt receive it or just come up with something. An Advice? With whats going on, go back to eBay, go and file a dispute that you didn't receive the item. The seller might be forced to file a claim at the post office. You cant file or call the post office. You are neither the seller nor the buyer OR you forget about the whole issues and move on with life..

@Bizbloke I know y'all are doing great job but you need to watch out for some things. People on here have been complaining including me about people handling your communication. If two or more people are complaining, then something is indeed wrong. Pls look into that. I noticed when you were handling this alone, you hardly see people complaining though I understand thst you need help.

It doesn't make sense for him to be calling post office from nigeria when call is free from here. Also legally, he doesn't have the right to call because he's neither the seller nor buyer. I believe a call of less than 10 mins from here with sort things out and even save you the money for recharge card you want to give out to him.

You need a door tag, ID and sign to collect your stuffs from the post office. Your ID has to been state ID OR DL cos it has to also show your address as well to match the address on the package. You should be more worried about items being collected at the post office because someone knows everything to be able to pull a stunt. You really should be more worried if truly that happened.

A customer is angry. Yes i get it but it's your duty to calm him down and I believe you are trying your best.

I already started this business myself and it's still at initial stage and i believe I have done something to prevent all these mess and it's simple? Professional Advice? Get enrolled in "informed delivery" with usps. That way you know all packages coming to your house each day and you have the power to control the package even those with signature required. It so many options like "hold at the post office, deliver on the porch, deliver to back door, deliver to my neighbour, deliver without signature " install a cctv camera to prevent theft. All these I did.

Just an advice. I hope you guys resolve yoir issues

To prove yo everyone, I have a short note I wrote down for every purchase I made. I always asked them not to use signature and some will just cancel the order and accuse me of trying to compromise lol.

Some will agree while other insist on signature.
Now some of these offers are mouth watering, where I make most of my profit. If I continue this way, how many offers will I get?
Some are regular sellers, who I have carried out many deal and they all went successfully but this particular issue is also a regular seller but my first purchase with him and to be honest he is good.

The things that made me mad were
1. Hardly reply
2. "We didnt see your package"
3. " we will not refund"

Where is that happening!!!! Why am I customer to you guys?
A company I personally have referred 4 or more people into?
The bill I have paid to you specuit is between N1,000,000 to N2,000,000. So respect me for that. I hardly missed any US ROUTE, since last year. That alone, my voice ought to be heard.

What will I gain lying over s8? When I have bought iPhone 8plus, tens of s8plus, numerous note 8, uncountable s7 edge, hundreds of samsung phones, laptops and other phone parts

You handled all my packages very well ( I must commend ) but there is need to find a solution to this, I am not a fan of refund but this must be resolve and you will make that move.

Simply let him ask post office for further details on the person that sign this, then we can go from there.

3. My team spent 2 weeks tracking your package, going as far back as packages not claimed since early '18. Zilch.

4. You were informed that your package wasn't physically delivered to us and you were advised to contact your seller and/or the post office.

5. You began typing abusive words over and over again.

6. You came over to Nairaland, same thing - and here we are.

We've checked for your package and we don't have it. If it was physically delivered, we'd have it.

I had to map out most part of my Tuesday to hold a physical meeting with Specuit (USA) mostly because of your package - I knew what the outcome of the meeting would be but I had to be there so that I don't say I was there when I wasn't.

As you've been advised numerous times, contact your seller and if you've done so, reach out to USPS. We've done our job, your seller has done his/her job; let USPS do their job.

Since you don't believe those who work with me - that they've investigated and reverse-tracked your package - you should do the reaching out. No matter how long you spend on the phone with them, do post the call log once you're done and when it's relayed to me, I'll personally cover the communication cost.

But note that we don't have your phone. You can keep up with the expletives, we won't get down uncivilly with you. We will treat you with respect as a human being.

To address other issues:
Companies grow and they hire people to deal with "excess capacity" spilled over from a stage they were once in.

If a company processes 100 orders per day and it grows to 150 orders per week, the right thing to do is to hire people, trust them and then get out of their ways so they can carry out the responsibilities they are being paid to carry out; the wrong thing is to hire people, not trust them, micromanage them and "keep peeping into their workspaces" to know what they're on about - and also, take over their responsibilities.

I do get how that's default for some people but it's not in my nature. I can do everything at Specuit (I've worked in all teams: Hello, Sales & Business Development, Finance & Specuit Express) but you won't even dare patronize us if that was the case because the service will be as suck-y as anything.

You have refused to accept this reality - which is fine for you but not fine for us.

You always want me to pick up the phone and dial your number whenever there's delay or if you provide a tracking number that doesn't match - again and again, I've had to explain this to you: that if it works so for some other people, it's because they really want to do this "one-man thing" and I don't want to.

I don't want to. I can't. I won't.

I've worked the longest hours you can ever imagine that a human can - and one can never grow things that way. That's definitely the black man's way of doing things and that really sucks!

People have to come in. If for others, people don't have to come in and it works well for their efficiency and health, amen. That's not how Specuit will grow and that's not how she's grown over the years.

You've refused to accept this reality and I'm sorry, I can't client-face anymore. I created this thread but the team at Specuit has taken over. If you can't trust them, the team players herein, I truly can't say anything to change your mind.

Several times within the last 10 months, you've incessantly insulted the team players who attended to you, made disparaging remarks about them. I've, on my part, cautioned and advised them to remain courteous and calm to you - because while I can't tell you what to do as regards the words you use, I can tell those working with me and for Specuit to refrain from going vulgar and that's not because every human doesn't have the capacity to bounce back if pushed to the wall - and you've done so numerous times with your words.

But simply because it's wise to remain professional and what's the need for arguments, for exchanging words - does it really solve anything, provide a solution to the challenge/problem? You've disregarded them and treated them like "I'm paying you so why not lie down so I can use you as rag?" - and for no justifiable reason!

You mention a possible N110,000 loss (that's really sad) and I can pull out reports worth anywhere from N500,000-N750,000 of phones with wrong tracking details you've provided.

And we've kept them - at different intervals - for days & weeks for you; advised that you contact your sellers which you always failed to do until much later. Oft, we work with the sellers' details to retrieve your package and dispatch to you because your tracking number is all shades of not correct and if we worked with just that, you'd not have some of the phones delivered to you. Surprisingly - and because it's truly convenient for you in order to paint this to your satisfaction - you've omitted that.

For few other clients, we've kept packages for months - as much as 6 months. You can do a one-on-one with one of the clients: Otunbaworldwide.

And that's not because N5,000 we currently charge for a unit of phone is way more than the total cost of those units of phones. I mean, we could claim we didn't see those phones, sell them and make major profits. But that's abnormal, it's illegal, it's putting money above what counts. We'd rather take N5,000 than that.

I trust everyone who works at Specuit, either in Nigeria or any of our international offices and if I ever make the wrong decision and hire someone who's not trustworthy (I'm yet to do that), I'd fire him/her before you or any client hears about it. Not just fire him/her for the misconduct but ensure s(he) spends time in jail to understand the consequences of his/her actions.

I'm not here to tell you what to do or how to talk but I sincerely hope you do find your phone and recoup your money. Unfortunately - and because I've approved 100s of thousands of naira in refund for packages we never physically received just to make happy - I won't be able to authorize a refund if per chance, you don't find your phone at USPS.

But I really do hope you find it. That'll be awesome!

you said i abused your team right? now ask them the last time they replied to the email i sent to them? do they think i am stupid when i said my item was missing? i updated them every time with my communication with the seller yet they kept mute until i brought this case here. you cannot keep silent on an angry customer, who supposed to sell an item and make another purchase. my item is missing, and that JH or whatever he calls his name keep typing harsh to worsen the whole situation. why didn't they ask to wait for 2 weeks? all he is saying is that we have not seen your package and we will not refund you. where did i mentioned refund in the first place?

you can trust your team, of course but you see that person handling your email, he doesn't worth my respect especially when he stop replying my messages, to make me look like a fool. i sent him all the replies from my seller and yet he kept silent. do i steal money to buy these phones? this particular package is pre-ordered and the owner is taking a heat on me, that i had to refund him from my own savings because i dont need anyone to tarnish my image. so how would you expect me to react? keep quiet and allow my phone and money to go? he kept asking me to call post office as if they are using mtn or glo. what will i tell them? is it not the person who ought to receive the item that will complain to post office especially when you are very close to them, unlike me living millions of miles away.

again Bizbloke, why didn't they asked post office the person that used your company name to collect someone's package? (which i have volunteer to pay for the transport)

as someone said earlier, post office requires door tag, ID then you sign for an item, so how can someone outside your company got all these and signed for an items that doesn't belong to him\her? even in Nigeria they require an identity card before you collect any item, talk of USA of all people? i am not telling you how to do your job sir, but just a suggestion from a loyal customer, to strengthen the effectiveness of your business. I cannot authorize USPS to do anything, it will be easier for you Specuit or the seller (who i have asked numerous times to file a complaint and declare the item missing).

saying i dont contact or communicate with my seller is a lie, before any item is shipped, i call to get more information on my package because of he distance the items will travel to. i have sent back 3 of my items back to usa, in the last 2 months through fedex (so they will meet the deadline) did i call you to complain about that. of course they are not your fault that some akpa amu sellers sent clone phones to me but i bear the loses by spending huge on fedex airway. i chat with all my sellers, the problem with some is that they send tracking very late, of which i update immediately i receive it. i dont know what you think i do on ebay. just order and go? its not possible. i chat with them like brothers. i communicate extensively with anyone i am buying from. i create mutual friendship with them. so do not say anything about my seller because they are like my brothers.

i make negative remark on people who takes other people business for granted, ask Onyi the whatapp attendance the last time i had issues with her. the last we quarrel, was when you guys were handling my courier to onitsha, ever since i discovered IBL, the journey becomes easier!
she has respect and i respect her too, i have known her even more than you lol. she always call anytime IBL comes to pick up my items. i still owe her alot because she is the only person that understand the true meaning of a customer and her job position as well. so i respect your team.

again wrong tracking details, whose fault is that?
i pull out information a seller uploaded, how will i know they are wrong? someone sent something across, i copied and sent to you. how is that my fault. even the ones i see, i tried to collect them immediately. if i have sent wrong tracking, I AM SO SORRY but i only send to you what the seller provided!

as for refund, i have nothing to say on that because i didnt start using your company for any sort of refund,
please let your team, ask post office for more information on the person that took my package, it's very simple, of course they will provide everything you want, i cannot do it from here. this is one of functions of your company.
stop all these PHYSICAL things because it doesn't make any sense!!!!!
item came to your address and dropped a note for post office for collection, just like they normally do in most of my packages and everyone else
stop all these logic of "it didn't deliver to us" shit, we are not in the court of law Oga, all shipper collect their client package at post office because some sellers are stubborn, they insist on signature and this is not the first time you have picked my item at post office,
so why is this a problem?
why would someone signed an item on your behalf?
why would someone used the new name as signature?
why would someone used your company name for fraud?
i expect you to fight for it and find an everlasting solution to it, not attacking me for complaining over my missing package.

Calm down bro. I understand how you feel. Good news is US is a organised country where the system is working.

Iphone was shipped to me by a client and it stopped tracking. 4 days after, i called FedEx as the receiver and noted my details. I was told I will be given a call back to update me about the shipment which they did an concluded it was missing after two days of FedEx searching for the lost package. FedEx told me to ask the seller to file a claim which she did. Well at last, i got my iPhone and everybody was happy.

If the receipent go to the post office and said the phone has been picked up, all he needs to do is to call and explain how post office didn't deliver his item claiming someone else got it. At my local post office, you will need post office door tag, ID then you sign. So this situation is confusing. Just hope someone call post complaint line to have this settled OR count your loss and move on

Is it possible to ask post office who picked up?
There should be a signature or details like identity card someone used to prove he is the other of the package

Check your email, I have sent the update if everything the seller said, I cannot put a dispute with the seller because he has already done his job.


Again there is need to investigate who collected my items with your name because if it's someone else, this may repeat itself again.

Please I will pay for the fuel if needed, let one of you go there with the tracking number, they will provide every needed details, I have called them countless times but they are not picking up.

IBL is my delivery man. He collects my stuffs I sent from here for onward delivery. Picking up at post office is not a problem. I use "informed delivery" with usps so I can have them delivered without signature
