Hello...
I got a news that there will be PostUTME by September in UI...
De VC of UI, together with Jamb registrar held a meeting on the 31st of July, and got to a verdict..
De VC expressed his feelings, by lamenting that the students admitted for the 2016/2017 session were absolutely one of the worst sets..., having failed regular tests..., also he also lamented that a student with A1 paralle, with a jamb result of 209, secured admission to study MBBS, while brighter brains..., were denied admission because of that grading system... Therefore, aspirants are adviced to study hard....
Thanks...

Sir.

I thought I gave a very precise reason why I vehemently think the portal for data correction will be re-opened soon on page 70 of the thread.

It has always been an habitual thing for JAMB since time immemorial to allow for data correction after the conduct of UTME.

Honestly..This year cant be an exemption.

OK...
Thanks for da clarification

Bro, you need to do d needful (COC or COI)...., even after your jamb score..,

the only things that could stop an aspirant who has scaled through the cut off include things like wrong subject combo, false Waec results and forces from the village(if such things even exist). That's how transparent ui's admission process is
That looks promising..

Basically, the merit list contains the names of applicants who beat the cut off marks while the supplementary list is meant for either those that are meant to be on the merit list but for one reason or the other were not cleared in time, those who applied for COC or thOse who missed out on the merit list by 1-3 points especially relatives of staffs.
And mind you, once a candidate beats the cut-off, admission is 95% certain save for very few complicated cases.

Sorry for the curiousity tho, but what are the slim odds to gaining admitted even after beating d cut-off, since you said admission would be 95% certain??

CondomSir:
In fact, UI usually release a statement about those who meet the cutoff marks for their courses but couldn't find their names on the merit list, that they need not worry, as their names will released on the second list.

Ok, will thr also be oral screening/test? If yes, how easy or difficult can it be to scale through such?
Education / Re: University Of Ibadan(UI) 2017/2018 Admission Thread by Jottel(m): 10:42am On Jun 16, 2017
CondomSir:

They don't just pick any point as cutoff; Cutoff marks are set putting "admission qouta" and "general performance" into consideration. You cannot meet/beat the cutoff for your course and not find your name on the merit list OR supplementary list(for your chosen course).

Sorry, buh what's d main difference between the merit and the supplementary list.., and if yu beat the cut-off, yur name doesn't show in the merit list, what is d assurance it will appear in the supplementary list..?

If You are very sure of a result such as;
chem-A1
bio-A1
maths-B2
eng-B2
phy-B2

or its equivalent, then you stand a big chance.
Note: If your score is 0.01 below the ELDS cutoff, you might be denied admission into MBBS and even any other course as a substitute.

Goodluck sir!

Even if I get to the point for ELDS, won't the admission qouta for mbbs not be enough for qualified..?
Education / Re: University Of Ibadan(UI) 2017/2018 Admission Thread by Jottel(m): 9:36pm On Jun 15, 2017
CondomSir:

Your state is an ELDState so i'll advise you base on last year's cutoff point for ELDS.

Your UME score is 258 which is 32.25/50. Last year cutoff for ELDS was 71.33.

71.33-32.25=39.08
You need 39.08 in your O'level to meet up with last cutoff, which is B2 in all your five compulsory subjects. Now, looking at the mass success in this year's UME most esp among sci/medical aspirants, we can say ELDS cutoff this year will go above 71. My prediction is (73<x<77, where x is the cutoff mark for ELDS this year).

With this, you should have 2A1s and 3B2s or at least 1A1 and 4B2s. If you have the former, your point will be 77.25, if you have the latter, your point will be 75.58.

But do you think your o'level result will be this good??

You might want to consider a change of course.

I still hav to stick to my course... Its a dream yu know?? And believe me, I expected mor frm UME, was really shocked wit the score... As for this year's WAEC, I still hav my hopes high...

Please, am kinda new here.... I got 258 in jamb, applied for medicine...., i hail from Benue state tho.... My ssce last year, wasn't promising at all, having passed other subjects but scored D7 in both maths, and chemistry, I then wrote WAEC this year, nd, am having really high hopes..., but then, I'll like my bosses in here, as well as the "Statistician" to help tell me the odds, and advantages
Thanks..
