So when Paul entered new cities with the intent to work with his own hands he was able to stand in line and buy his own food with his own hard-earned money and thus, “not be a burden to any.” In Acts 20:34-35 Paul wrote that “You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my necessities and to those who were with me. In all these things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

This is the part I don’t get..... who are we paying these tithe to? Is it to Levit or to God? Secondly according to the bible why do we pay tithe?


Lastly about the Levite issue you raised, mind you Jesus was not a Christian, neither was there Christianity in the Old Testament.... Levite are basically the “priest” in the Jewish culture,

Tithing is one of the Jewish culture brought into Christianity because Jesus taught about it and encouraged it .....now who the “priest” in the Christian faith? Me and you.... We are a royals priesthood.....



Now if you did as God commandment bring your tithe to the church and offer it to God, in obedience to God.... we believe that biblically the priest or pastor as the case may be knows what God commanded the tithe be used for. The point is that, you’ve done your part as commanded by God and he will fulfill the promises attached to paying tithe....... now whatever the priest or pastor does with it is up to him and God, what concerns you is that you’ve paid your tithe and the blessing attached to tithing is upon you...... but if the pastor misappropriate the funds age has God to face for that, but saying I wouldn’t pay tithe because “ I think” the pastor is using the funds wrongly I don’t think it’s wise....... that is my opinion
