quit, your life and sanity matters most. Infact it's a blessing for you to harbour this thought. You will eventually succeed though the beginning might not be so cosy. I and dozen more of my colleagues quitted and are far better today.

I quit my job December last year, it not been easy from then till now, but there are some jobs if you don’t leave them you can’t get a better opportunity. Like you said the beginning will definitely be difficult of course at the long run everything will be alright.

Since you are an educated guy,why didnt you try student visa?with student visa,your future will be bright,getting some jobs doing will not be a problem,i may even employ you for 15hr a week,(if possible).

And if you get your visiting visa,please dont take any documents with you in your luggage,like you are trying to look for job or trying to legalize your stay,its dangerous.
