Wrong. Mercedes went up to 18000 for the very first time in 1984. Check Sunday times headline the day after the murder of Marvin Gaye by his father.
I don't know the price outside nigeria, but I know someone who bought his own for 20k 1976.

Politics / Re: What Has Buhari's Administration Achieved This Year? by malonephill(m): 9:42pm On Nov 04, 2015
Buhari has achieved a lot, I'm expecting passingShot to come with something soon
Sweetguy25:
As far as federal administration is concerned, this year has ended. I don't see anything else this government can put in place this year that could create a positive effect in the short term. Portfolios are yet to be handed to the recently confirmed ministers and rumors have it that the ministers will likely get their portfolios next week. We have eight weeks left in 2015 and a federal executive council or a cabinet has not yet been instituted.

That notwithstanding, I must admit that I'm honestly not expecting the ministers to give any policy directive this year. They will have to take about 1 month to fully understand and appraise the current state of their respective ministries, develop ideas, policies and plans for their respective ministries. Coupled with the fact there's no budget in place and this government plans to commence a zero-based budgetary system that is time consuming and new to the system, it may take longer for Nigerians to start witnessing any positive change.

Now the big question to everyone is - What has Buhari's government achieved this year?
And I mean concrete achievements that were initiated by this government not projects or programs that were carried over from the previous government.

Has Buhari set out any economic policy to attract investors to the economy?
Has Buhari awarded any contract to develop an infrastructure project anywhere in the country?
What has Buhari done to curb the rising unemployment rates?
What has Buhari done to fight corruption (Aside the usual empty rhetoric)?
What has Buhari done to improve the state of our ailing economy?
What has Buhari done to improve security?
What has Buhari done to ameliorate the sufferings of the poor who are the most vulnerable to our current economic situation?

And please I don't want the usual excuses of "Six months is not enough to appraise his government" and "he's battling with the rot he was left with from GEJ"

The floor is open. . .

A cashier asking for ur bvn? U should have shouted and alerted people at the banking hall to be wary of that cashier to avoid an ignorant falling victim cos the cashier is a scammer in disguise or what does he/she needs ur bvn for a transaction that's glaring doesnt needs bvn?
a uba bank cashier also said samething to me when want to deposit money into another acct which is not my account, I told her what if I don't have any bank account, she insisted not to do the transacion unless I see the bank manager to sign on my teller.....

Perhaps we should asks cbn is this also their directive?

Politics / Re: Akure Monarch Bans Eze Ndi Igbo Title-the Punch by malonephill(m): 10:09am On Oct 22, 2015
GentleToks:

I am an Akure indigene(both sides). I lived in Akure for almost 26 years before moving to next level.

Akure is a place where Igbos could refer to as their home anytime any day considering their peaceful co-existence with Akure indigenes and Yorubas in that city. Igbos are having a blast in that city; no tribal issues, no disturbance from any quarter. It's all about making Benjamis for Igbos in that city and Igbos community is making that Benjamins cos there is peace.

However, it ll be suicidal for Igbos in Akure not to be boundary conscious like Hausas/Fulanis in Akure. Akure indigenes are the last people in South West that Igbos want to play around with. Akure indigenes would destroy all Igbos business in that city in less than 24hrs.

Igbos businesses are mainly concentrated at Ilesha garage(spare parts), Iro junction all the way to Isinkan(Electronics), Oba-Adesida (Boutiques) and Arakale(Building materials).

Unfortunately, Akure is not as big as Lagos hence, Akure indigenes know where and where all Igbos in Akure live with their families. It will be a straight forward tribal cleansing if the whole thing gets out of hand.

Igbos who are old enough to experience Omoboriowo Akure riot in 80s must have warned their kinsmen as to what would befall them in eventuality of riot(war) in Akure.

I ll implore Igbos to do what they have been doing for over 50years to maintain a peaceful relationship with Yorubas in that City. Igbos have made so much money and deserve to enjoy their sweat by staying away from trouble. Money gives you unnecessary pride and this pride could lead to one's downfall.
I am a yoruba, but I pity my ibo brothers they think akure is lagos, iro and isolo guys are patiently waiting for ibo to try anything stupid!

Its also a pity most of 'em have nowhere to go to, if they ask them to leave

Six people, together with Mimiko and his younger Professor brother(the erstwhile VC of AAUA) founded and funded the then Labour Party. He is left with only his brother now. It's either he left them or they left him.
Dr Olaiya Oni hoped Iroko would turn a new leaf and waited till recently before he finally left.
Ondo State will be delivered soon!!
certainly! I don't blame mimiko, But I doubt if ondo people have learnt lesson atall, it beat my imagination that people would fall for mimiko in the past assembly election just for 1k with the hardship they being through in his second term, I didn't see anything he did during the first term tho apart from the painting, don't be surprised when you see "iroko" candidate emerge has next governor then you know these people are still dull, I pray their delivered
