William Troost-Ekong made the team of the season in Norway.... The man has established himself as one of the best in Norway. Hopefully, He returns to Belgium (GENT) and makes an impact.

I believe that he has the biggest potential out of all the defenders at the moment.

Everyone seems to have forgotten to note that Fred Friday also made team of the season.

Birikiti:
Up to 70% of this team are still eligible for the next edition. The German team (oldest team in the Competition) were clearly more experienced and bossed our guys for 90 minutes. It would have been different if many of our guys have had European experience (why Manu benched Simon and Kelechi for 90 mins remains a mystery).

BTW guys like Nwakali, Awoniyi, Iheanacho, Zaharadin, Jide Idowu, Alampasu, Abdulai Alfa, Chidera Eze etc are still very eligible for the next competition. 2 seasons in Europe should toughen them up and put us in good stead to challange for the Cup in 2017!

Your wrong on this one. Only players born 1st January 1997 or later are eligible. That means only Taiwo Awoniyi, Ifeanyi Matthew, Chidere Eze and Zaharadeen Bello will be eligible.

Not a one-match wonder. He was oozing class during pre-season with Chelsea - easily the best player on tour. Including the likes of Hazard.

Sports / Re: Africa's Highest Scorers In Europe So Far This Season(2013/2014) by marutimon: 1:47pm On Dec 30, 2013
Good work but I found sme flaws:

You counted the Ukrainian league, but didn't count the Portuguese league, which is currently ranked 5th in Europe. Also the list was arbitrarily cut at the Turkish league (11th according to FIFA). Lets stick with the top 15 leagues (add the Swiss, Austrain, Czech and Greek leagues). Also some players are missing, including the topscorer from Africa (even though Imoh Ezekiel from the same league appears on the list), Also a bunch of 5+ goal players do not feature on your list (because they have less recognisable names or play for lesser clubs?):

Hamdi Harbaoui (Lokeren, Belgium, Tunisia) - 12 goals
Sadio Mane (Red Bull Salzburg, Austria, Senegal) - 9 goals
Mouhamadou Habib Habibou (Zulte Waregem, Belgium, Central African Republic) - 9 goals
Francis Litsingi (FK Teplice, Czech Rep., Congo) - 9 goals
Yannick Boli (Zorya, Ukraine, Ivory Coast) - 8 goals
Heldon (Maritimo, Portugal, Cape Verde) - 8 goals
Omar Niasse (Akhisarspor, Turkey, Senegal) - 8 goals
Ibrahima Balde (FC Kuban, Russia, Senegal) - 7 goals
Lamine Diarra (Antalyaspor, Turkey, Senegal) - 7 goals
Ahmed Musa (CSKA Moscor, Nigeria) - 5 goals
Rachid Bourabia (Lierse, Belgium, Morocco) - 5 goals
Elimane Coulibaly (Kortrijk, Belgium, Senegal) - 5 goals
Evariste Ngolok (OH Leuven, Belgium, Cameroon) - 5 goals
Henri Camara (Panaitholikos, Greece, Senegal) - 5 goals
Foued Kadir (Rennes, Algeria) - 5 goals
Prince Oniangue (Congo, Stade Reims) - 5 goals
Mustapha Yatabare (Guingamp, Mali) - 5 goals
Younes Belhanda (Dynamo Kyiv, Morocco) - 5 goals
Abdou Razack Traore (Gaziantep, Turkey, Burkina Faso) - 5 goals
Sports / Keshi Draws Vs Kano Pillars by marutimon: 12:28pm On Dec 30, 2013
Kano Pillars force Super Eagles to a 2-2 draw

Glo League Champions, Kano Pillars this morning forced the Super Eagles team preparing for CHAN Tournament to a 2-2 draw at the National Stadium, Abuja. The match which was described as the toughest for the team in all their friendly games saw the Super Eagles bring out their best in the game and scored first through Abubakar Aliyu.

Pillars did not waste time to come back into the game and they were rewarded with a goal by Bello Koformata. Rabiu Ali who inceidentally plays for Kano Pillars got the second through a penalty for the Super Eagles, before Koformata completed his brace.
In the second half, the tywo teams tried to increase the tally, but the game ended 2-2.

Super Eagles media officer, Ben Alaiya said it was a good game and the Kano side gave the National Team a good game. “This is the type of game that will toughen the team for the task ahead. And we are happy because Pillars proved to everybody that they are really Champions of the Premier League,” Alaiya said.

learnt that more players will be decamped today before the final list will be released before the new year.

BTW: Is this the same Aliyu Abubakar that played for the U17 team (the mammoth defender)?

naija noni: .
When i talk of "LAST SEASON" i mean the season that ended in 2013.
The scandanavian leagues season is from February to October/November.
The scandanavian leagues ended last month.
So The season that ended last month is what u'll refer as "LAST SEASON" in d scandanavian league.
Warris scored 23 goals "LAST TWO SEASONS" in sweden, moved to spartak moscow november last year and couldnt cut it there(would be loaned out next month).

So David accam is d only ghanaian player that scored 10 goals and above in a top flight league in europe last season.

Scandanavian league for dat matter.

You're pushing it. 2013 Swedish league will be used for the upcoming Champions League. So last season is 2012, this season is 2013 and next season is 2014.

Andre Ayew also scored 12 in all competitions last season.
Sports / Re: Kenya Demand Friendly Match With Nigeria by marutimon: 11:15am On Dec 29, 2013
striker9: Abdul Majeed Waris scored 26 goals from 2010 to 2012,not last season. He has scored a goal this season with 11 appearances with Spartak Moscow.

Waris scored 26 goals (23 in the league) in 2012. That was last season, because the league in Sweden runs through a calendar year, not from Autumn to Spring.
Sports / Re: Kenya Demand Friendly Match With Nigeria by marutimon: 10:38am On Dec 29, 2013
naija noni: When i say we have top strikers, its compared to ghana.
A few african countries MIGHT have more top strikers than nigeria.

Last season NO ghanaian player in any TOP FLIGHT league in europe scored goals in double figures(10 goals and above).
Ghana's highest scorer in europe last season was Andre Ayew with 9 goals.
But i can list about 6 nigerian players that scored goals in double figures.

Abdul Waris scored 26 goals in Sweden last season.
This season David Accam scored 10 goals in the same league.

He has a recorded speed of 34,3 km/h, so that would place him 3rd on the above list.
I would also think Seydou Doumbia should be in the top 10.
