The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ‎has alleged that the $25 billion contract scam at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) ‎is to fund President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term ambition in 2019.

RationalTV..com gathered that the minister of state for petroleum resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, in a leaked letter to President Buhari dated August 30, accused the Group Managing Director (GMD) Dr. Maikanti Baru of insubordination and corruption.
The national publicity secretary of the PDP national caretaker committee, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, at a press conference on Thursday, October 5, ‎ expressed shock at the silence of President Buhari on the allegation.

“As a political party, we expect that the President, who prides himself as an indefatigable corruption fighter, would for once try to live above board, by genuinely allowing one of his own, accused of corruption, get properly investigated and prosecuted as a show of his impartiality in the war against corruption,”the party said.‎
‎PDP added that allegations levelled against Baru by Kachikwu were too grave to be swept under the carpet, insisting that the NNPC GMD should be treated like an accused person who should not have the opportunity to influence the investigation into his alleged misdeeds.
It therefore, called for the ‎immediate suspension of the Baru so that proper investigation could be carried out by the relevant anti-corruption agencies.
The party said there is insincerity in President Buhari’s anti-corruption war, and challenged the president to correct the open impression Nigerians have about his so-called anti-corruption war.
“Ordinarily if there was sincerity in the anti-corruption war, President Muhammadu Buhari should not have waited for any prompting before he takes a decisive action on this matter.
“But as customary with his administration, we suspect that he’s trying to shield Baru as he did for Babachir Lawal, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) whom he merely suspended to allow the hullabaloo generated by the fraud perpetrated in the management of the emergency fund for the IDPs, die down.
“Also up till now, we have never heard anything again about the millions of dollars and billions of naira discovered at an Ikoyi apartment.
“Nigerians have not forgotten the acts of illegality and double standard perpetrated by the president in refusing to hand over Babachir Lawal to the EFCC for proper investigation and possible prosecution for graft, but rather, preferring to give the task of investigation of the open sleaze to the Vice President, in a move not known to any law of this nation,”the party said.
PDP observed that the $25 billion scandal is less than 10 percent of the $2 billion arms deal fund allegedly converted by the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki for which many people have ‎been arrested and are being persecuted.
“Nigerians can now see the hypocrisy in the so called anti-corruption fight. We may as well say that the privileged class of APC members enjoys total immunity from the anti-corruption campaign.
“We have been saying this for months that the looting of the nation’s resources under this administration is record setting in the history of this nation and we are being proven right on daily basis by the little revelations that are being made by even those working under the administration,”PDP said.
‎The party wondered what gave the GMD the temerity to sideline a minister under whom he works and take decisions without consultation.
This, it added, might be the fact that some that powerful people at the corridors of power were tacitly involved.
“If the President’s powerful Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari could sit on the NNPC board and such a calamity is taking place without an eyelid being blinked, we are forced to believe that the stealing is being done to the advantage of the president who has shown by his body language that the only thing that matter most to him for now, is his second term ambition.
‎"Will it be considered a ‘hate speech’ if we say the money being stolen by President Buhari’s men are being kept aside into a special pool for the prosecution of his second term ambition?

“We challenge the president to prove us wrong by allowing his allies being caught up in acts of brazen stealing of our commonwealth, get punished in accordance with the laws of the land. Anything aside this, we will take as confirmation of our suspicion that the rottenness is from the very top,”PDP added.
The party also demanded an order from the President to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti-graft agencies to immediately commence investigation into all issues of corruption levelled against Baru, as well as other persons who might have overtly or covertly participated in the illegal act.

The Ogun state police command has recovered 15 pump action guns and 14 cut to size locally made pistols from suspected criminals whose offences ranged from armed robbery, kidnapping impersonation to cultism, car snatching and ritual killing.

The police made the disclosure on Wednesday, October 4, when it paraded the suspects at the command’s headquarters at Eleweran, Abeokuta, The Punch reports.
The state commissioner of police, Ahmed Iliyasu, said the suspects were arrested from various locations in the state in an operation tagged criminals mop up.
Among those paraded were 31 cultists who were arrested at a hotel in Okeyidi area of Abeokuta, the state capital during an initiation ceremony.
Others are two suspects, arrested for ritual killing, four for kidnapping, while Twenty-eight other suspects were arrested for armed robbery.

The police also got a break in the operation as a member of the robbery gang who shot and wounded the divisional police officer of Ogbere police station on September 13, was paraded among the suspected criminals.

The Nigerian Army on Wednesday said its Operation Crocodile Smile II in the South-West would go after Badoo group and other cults.
Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. Gen. Sani Usman, insisted that the military operations – Egwu Eke II and Crocodile Smile II – like the earlier operations, were not targeted at “any particular ethnic group or group of individuals.”
Usman said, “I made reference to Operation Crocodile Smile, because there is so much mischief and misinformation in respect of Exercise Egwu Eke II. What we are saying is that the exercise is not targeted at any particular ethnic group or a group of persons.
“The army needs to train because in the event of being called upon by the civic authorities, we will know what to do. So, we are looking at large-scale security challenges and we train on those aspects. Last year, we had all these exercises based on the challenges at that time.
“But this year, there are issues associated with criminalities such as Badoo and other cult-related activities. The problems associated with the North-West are different from the South-South or the South-East or a combination of both.
“The whole idea is that these exercises are routine and some people only blow things out of proportion. But we mean well and we just want to train our troops to be more professional”, he told Punch.
The Army is currently carrying out operation Python Dance II in Southeast region of Nigeria.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, met the United States President, Donald Trump.
The meeting took place at a Luncheon, in honour of selected African heads on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
At the event, Trump has said he has many friends who go to Africa to “get rich”.
On Tuesday, Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina confirmed he will meet with Trump.
“It is a lunch meeting, actually, tomorrow. And there are going to be nine African countries. Nigeria is one of them. There are eight others. So, it is a lunch meeting.
“You can then imagine that there would be a lot of chit chat over lunch on issues that pertain to Africa because all the presidents there with the American President are going to be African presidents,” Adesina stated.

Senior Pastor of the Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide (OFM), Apostle Johnson Suleman, has prophesied that unless Nigerians pray for the country, the 2019 election will not hold.
The cleric, in a chat with journalists in his church, prophesied saying: “Tell Nigerians who wish to see democracy sustained, to pray for our leaders and work for peace; tell the leaders too to pray and be honest with the people they are serving, otherwise, elections may not hold in Nigeria in 2019. That is what God has shown me.”
Apostle Suleman has been credited for many precise prophecies made in years past.
The self-acclaimed ‘Oracle of God’ is the first pastor in Nigeria that prophesied in a December 2013 prophecy, the crowning of former Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor, Alhaji Lamido Sanusi Lamido, as Emir of Kano.
He equally foresaw the death of a serving cabinet member in Nigeria and asked for special prayer during a church service in January 2015.
Likewise, during his ministry’s ‘Fire and Miracle Night’ programme in August 2015, the servant of God foretold the trouble in the last Kogi State governorship election that brought in Governor Yahaya Bello and warned of ‘a death’.
Also, as Edo State prepared for the September 10th 2016 governorship election, Apostle Suleman at a church service said he did not see the election holding on the appointed date.
Subsequently, the INEC shifted the election to September 28 2016, citing security challenges.
“I see presidents being removed in Africa and presidents being installed”, the man of God declared in his 2016 prophecies.
In that declaration, Suleman also asked for vigilance as he said he saw kidnappers entering school, adding that “President Buhari’s health needed serious attention; that America and China would have major crisis.”

The Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has said that he will not yield to the threat by the Federal government to punish those who make “hate speeches”.
Wike said the threat by the Federal government was merely aimed at instilling fear into members of the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party.
The Rivers State Governor stated that he will not be cowed into ignoring the excesses of the Federal government, the ruling All Progressives Congress and its agents.
Governor Nyesom Wike stated this while addressing the Bishops and the Laity of Anglican communion at the 12th general synod in Diobu.
According to him, “I don’t know what they refer to as hate speech. I don’t know whether we should all keep quiet when things are going wrong.
“For instance, I have continuously said anybody who is coming to Rivers State to rig election should be treated as an armed robber. Will you describe that as an hate speech?”
Wike also said he does not belong to any cult group.
The governor stressed that he has never participated in any secret or open cult activities right from his youth.
He said the past administration of Rotimi Amaechi abandoned the Kono-Opobo-Andoni road. He promised to complete it before leaving office.
He also promised to sponsor over 1000 Anglican priests to Jerusalem for holy pilgrimage.
Meanwhile, the church of Nigeria Anglican communion has called on government at all levels to stop people who build on water channels to avert the incessant flooding experienced in parts of the country.
The primate of the Anglican communion in Nigeria, Archbishop Nicholas Okoh made the appeal while addressing the laity of the 12th general synod Anglican communion at st Paul’s cathedral Diobu.
Okoh also called on Christians to take their pride of place in all facet of the economy.
He called on those who design the educational curriculum not to compromise the Christian faith by merging CRK with civic Education.
The theme for the 12th general synod of the Anglican communion is “Thou shall not steal”, taken from Exodus 20:15.

Frontline contender and candidate of the United Progressive Party (UPP) in the November 18, 2017 Anambra governorship election, Chief Osita Chidoka has slammed the governors of the south East states for what he termed failure of leadership in their handling of issues relating to the agitation by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in the region.

Chidoka, who spoke while fielding questions during a national radio interview monitored on Monday also rejected the military’s declaration of IPOB as a terrorist group, saying the military was not in the position to do so without passing through laid down legal and constitutional provisions.

The UPP governorship candidate carpeted the governors for going beyond their constitutional and legal limits to announce a proscription of IPOB, which, according to him, remains a futility under the law.
He said the governors failed in their mandate to adequately aggregate the views and interests of the people of the region to other parts of the country, a situation which created a vacuum leading to the escalation of agitations, and should have used the opportunity of the face-off to revert to the people and provide the much needed political leadership in the region.

According to Chidoka, “From a leadership perspective, it would be good on the part of the governors to do something to stem what was going on with the military, but in terms of the proscription of IPOB, the governors went beyond their mandate; they went beyond their legal capacity.

“All they needed to have done, if they were listening to the wishes and aspiration of the people of the southeast, was that, instead of calling for a meeting with Nnamdi Kanu, they should have conducted an opinion poll to find out what the issues were.
He said the question should have been, ‘What do you want us to tell the government that you feel Nnamdi Kanu is saying that we are not saying?’ “Then they should be able to seek audience with the President or the vice President and say ‘these are the issues’.”
“I believe that the failure of leadership on the part of the governors of the southeast became glaring to the whole country and their effort at announcing a proscription was beyond their legal limits. They should have used it as a basis to aggregate the views and channeling them appropriately”, he said.

Chidoka lamented that the military action occurred at the time the people of the southeast were already reviewing the modus of the agitation to ensure that it was not in negation of other ethnic groups in the country.

Faulting the military, Chidoka said it was not in a position to declare IPOB a terrorist organization, without following certain established legal actions.
“To declare an organization a terrorist organization requires certain legal action to be taken. Those legal actions were not taken. The military is not in the position to declare an organization a terrorist organization. So I think, fundamentally, the declaration was an act in futility.

“First and foremost, I think that government should follow the due process of the law to criminalize the activity of any group including IPOB if it violates the law of the country of Nigeria.

“Once they do that, then they will go to the next stage of getting the police to enforce that law. If in enforcing the law, the organization turns into an insurrection, then you can go back to the military. Anything short of that is unconstitutional and an action in futility”, he said.

Chidoka further called for auditing of the activities of the military saying such would help de-escalate the tension in the region.

“Now that this military action has happened, it is critical that we audit what happened. It is important that the claims of death and killings and no death and no killings need to be audited.

“That auditing mechanism that we have in the National Assembly, that ability to go back and look at what has transpired is important for us to deescalate the tension in the land.”

Chidoka, insisted that rule of law and dialogue, rather than force and subjugation of voices hold the answers to the agitations not only in the south east but among other groups in the country.

Rights group, Amnesty International (AI) has said that it is investigating the clash between the Nigerian Army and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), in Umuahia, Abia state.
In a statement sent to journalists on Friday, September 15, the director of the organisation, Osai Ojigho expressed concerns over the conduct of the Nigerian military.

“We are deeply concerned by reports of violence and alleged loss of lives across Nigeria following clashes between the Nigerian military and supporters of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Umuahia, Abia state.
“We are calling on the authorities to ensure the security forces prioritize the protection of people and avoid excessive force.
“We are investigating all allegations of human rights violations and urge the authorities to investigate and quickly bring those suspected of unlawful killings and other serious violations to justice,”the statement said.
The statement also tasked the Nigerian authorities to rein in on the security forces and ensure accountability after reports of violence.
Meanwhile, the National Consultative Meeting of Oodua Republic Front, has said anyone displaced from the southeast as a result of the ongoing crisis in the region would be welcome in the southwest.
This was contained in the group's resolution after its meeting held in Ibadan, Oyo state on Wednesday, September 13.
The resolution which was signed Mr Jubril Ogundinmu on behalf of the group, stated that the activities of IPOB and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, was becoming worrisome.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu (APC-Lagos Central), has called on Nigerians to re-evaluate themselves and desist from hate speech and quit notices which hurt the country, Punch reports.
The lawmaker made her comments while speaking at a town hall meeting with her constituents in Surulere, Lagos, on Friday September 15.
The meeting was themed: 'Embracing our Complexity and Diversity'.

She praised the Arewa youths for withdrawing their earlier October 1 quit notice, and urged other ethnic groups to do the same.
She stated:“I also appeal to others to follow suit and take back any statements capable of leading to hostilities and apprehension."
Tinubu used Lagos as an example of how Nigerians of all ethnicities can live together peaceably as she noted that the state was very diverse in the make-up of its residents.
According to Tinubu, other states had a lot to learn from Lagos which“with all the different ethnicities that make up Nigeria residing within her boundaries, has proven that it is possible to coexist peacefully.”

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Mike Ozekhome has condemned the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organization.
Ozekhome said all the instances cited by the Nigerian military were not sufficient enough to proscribe the group and its members as terrorists.
A statement by the renowned lawyer said there is no justification on the declaration made by the military.
He also decried the activities of Fulani herdsmen across the country, who he said are yet to be proscribed by the federal government.

Ozekhome said:“I do not believe the instances cited by the Defence Headquarters to justify declaring IPOB a terrorist organization."
“The last time I checked, I can’t remember any of such organisation operating in the country being declared terrorist organisations.
“The herdsmen who go on rampage daily, maiming, rapiing, killing; those responsible for the Agatu massacre; Shiites massacre, Southern Kaduna pogrom, indiscriminate killings, brazen quit notices’ givers, across Nigeria, etc, have never been arrested, prosecuted, let alone been proscribed and stigmatised as terrorist organisations.
“We must surely have and operate two sets of laws for two sets of people in Nigeria. Nigeria, we hail thee. A government should be seen to be fair to all component parts of Nigeria,"Ozekhome noted.

However, contrary to Ozekhome, another SAN Rotimi Jacobs said, it is only the executive arm of the government that had the power to make such declaration.
Jacobs said the military made the declaration because it "can speak for the President”.
“It (the declaration) should be from the executive and I believe the military has the mandate of the President.
“The president has not said anything to the contrary, so I believe they are speaking the opinion of the President”.

The military in a statement by the defence spokesperson said recent developments and activities of the group shows that its is a terrorists organization.

I was watching URBAN TV today,but at a point,i picked up the remote and changed to a channel that was showing hindi movies, I love the indian Ladies coz i think they're the most beautiful ladies

Meanwhile the movie is all about a rich girl who fell in love with a poor guy in Delhi (India's Capital) At a point,the movie was getting boring, Just as i picked up the remote to change the channel again,i noticed the girl and the guy was running away together to a private area, immediately i saw this i just kept the remote and focused my mind again on the movie, The guy and the girl rushed into a
secluded building,closedthe door,pulled down the curtains to make sure Nobody could see them from outside.

At this point,i positioned myself very well on my seat waiting for them to start "Doing it" But To my greatest surprise,they just ran inside the bedroom and started SINGING! . . . . Like WTF??

A Niger Delta group under the aegis of the Centre for Peace & Environmental Justice, CEPEJ on Thursday warned the Federal Government of Nigeria to be careful in handling the agitations of the Indigenous People of Biafra,IPO and its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the Eastern Part of the Country.
The group handed down the warning during a chat with select Journalists in Warri today.
The group’s National Coordinator, Comrade Sheriff Mulade stated that Nigeria was sitting on a “keg of gunpowder” and will become “history” if better, peaceful and non-violent approach are not applied in handling the agitations.
Mulade noted that Nigerians are not happy, stressing that,”There are no longer patriotic Nigerians. You can’t just go there and surround the premises of Nnamdi Kanu.”
Mulade urged to he Federal Government to incorporate the traditional ruler in the country in addressing the issues.
Mulade said,”Using only political approach is the reason why the agitations has degenerated to the level it is.”
“People should be calm. The presence of military is not a much threat. The Government is trying to keep peace.”
Mulade stated that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu should allow peace to reign in the aastern Part of Nigeria and respect his bail conditions.
He noted that declaring war is good but the end is not palatable.

It is no longer news that some Biafra supporters have elevated Nnamdi Kanu to some sort of demi-god status, with some even going as far as calling him ' Jesus' and 'Messiah'.
Some have even claimed that the IPOB leader healed them of their diseases and went as far as worshipping him.
Facebook user, Udummiri Nwakalu, who once made headlines for tearing the Bible on live video, is in the news again, this time for showing his support for Kanu.

Nwakalu wrote on Facebook, stating that whosoever does not deem it fit to worship Kanu is not just a coward, but a fool as well.

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has challenged the senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki to disclose to Nigerians how much each Senators earn annually.
SERAP said Saraki should, “urgently explain to Nigerians if it is true that a Nigerian Senator gets N29 million in monthly pay, and over N3 billion a year.”
The body made the call in reaction to claim by the Chairman Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption (PACAC), Professor Itse Sagay, saying Senator gets N29 million in monthly pay.
However, the Senate has so far refused to clarify this or disclose the details of salaries and allowances of its members.
In a statement by its Deputy Director, Timothy Adewale sent to DAILY POST, the body said, “The ‘sky will not fall’ if details of a Nigerian Senator’s salaries and allowances are published on a dedicated website. SERAP believes that releasing the information on salaries and allowances of members of the Senate would encourage a nuanced, evidence-based public debate on what would or should be a fair salary for a member of the Senate.
“It is by making transparency a guiding principle of the National Assembly that the Senate can regain the support of their constituents and public trust, and contribute to ending the country’s damaging reputation for corruption.
“Transparency is a fundamental attribute of democracy, a norm of human rights, a tool to promote political and economic prosperity and to curb corruption. For the Senate, practising transparency should start with the leadership being open to Nigerians on the salaries and allowances of members.
“SERAP strongly believes that it is by knowing exactly how much their lawmakers earn as salaries and allowances that members of the National Assembly can remain accountable to Nigerians and our citizens can be assured that neither fraud nor government waste is concealed.”
“If the Senate under your leadership is committed to serving the public interest, it should reaffirm its commitment to openness by urgently publishing details of salaries and allowances of members. But when the Senate leadership routinely denies access to information on matters as basic as salaries and allowances of our lawmakers because some exceptions or other privileges override a constitutional and statutory disclosure requirement, open government would seem more like a distant, deferred ideal than an existing practice.”
“The continuing refusal by the Senate to reveal concrete information about the salaries and allowances of their leadership and members could ultimately endanger the healthy development of a rule-of-law state.
“SERAP is concerned that the Senate seems to consider releasing concrete information about salaries and allowances of members to be at best a burden and, at worst, a threat to their legislative functions. Releasing information on your salaries and allowances would not interfere with your law-making functions. In fact, doing so would improve public confidence in the ability and legitimacy of the Senate to perform those functions and make laws for the peace, order and good governance of the Federation.”
“By permitting access to information on your members’ salaries and allowances long shielded unnecessarily from public view, the Senate would be moving towards securing the confidence of Nigerians in the legislature. The Senate would also be establishing a more solid political base from which to perform its legislative duties and to fulfill its role in the balance of power within the Nigerian constitutional order.
“Transparency is necessary for accountability, and helps to promote impartiality by suppressing self-interested official behavior. It also enables the free flow of information among public agencies and private individuals, allowing input, review, and criticism of government action, and thereby increases the quality of governance.”

50 per cent of teachers in Kaduna State penned down for re-appointment as teachers, failed primary 4 test set for them as pre-condition for re-absorption into the civil service, Governor Nasir El-Rufai has revealed.
The governor also disclosed that students who were sent on overseas study were being withdrawn due to poor academic performance.

El Rufai disclosed this when chiefs and traditional rulers from Southern Kaduna paid him a courtesy call on Tuesday.

He expressed shocks over what he described as “shameful performance of the students because their academic performance in secondary schools back home were ‎convincing enough that they would do better outside Nigeria.”

“This is a clear demonstration of the government’s effort towards improving teachers capacity for effective teaching and learning in public schools,” said El-Rufai said.

The royal fathers, led by Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji Muhammadu Isah Muhammadu said they decided to visit the governor to express happiness over the recent re-opening of tertiary institutions closed down in Southern Kaduna, since December 2016, as a result of insecurity in the area.

Stakeholders had commended the state government for releasing N312 million for Teacher Professional Development (TPD) in 2016.

Ace human rights lawyer and activist, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa has faulted the decision of the Federal Government to deploy soldiers around the home of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader Nnamdi Kanu.
DAILY POST reports that there was a clash between some soldiers and pro-Biafra supportersnear Nnamdi Kanu’s residence, resulting to death of several persons.
Reacting to the development in a statement issued on Tuesday, Adegboruwa said the “clampdown on civilians by the military” in a democracy cannot be justified.
He said: “The military quelled the Shiites’ peaceful rally in Zaria, sacked civilian communities in the Niger Delta, supervised elections in Rivers and other places, mowed down peaceful gatherings in the Southeast and even took over Premium Times’ office in Abuja a while ago, in a supposed democratic government led by civilians
“I’ve read people and even comrades and enlightened ones prodding them on, defending the military to carry on ‘python dance’, in the midst of civilians and locals.
“The next phase of this hidden agenda is a takeover of civilian authority, because when the ‘python’ has finished ‘dancing’, it must surely swallow something, to quench its usually large appetite.
“And by the way, why is the ‘python’ not ‘dancing’ in Kaduna, where a quit notice was handed down to Igbos to vacate? Why is the ‘python’ not ‘dancing’ in Yenagoa and Ibadan, where separatist agitations are also on the rise? Are pythons found only in Igboland?
“Let the military go back to their barracks and submit to civilian authority. There is no insurrection going on in any part of the Southeast now, to warrant the display of military force or deployment.”

THE police in Germany have arrested five people for allegedly smuggling Nigerian men into the country through arranged marriages.
A statement by the German police said 400 police officers raided 41 apartments and rooms suspected to be linked to the gang in Berlin and other German cities.
Reutersreported that the gang’s suspected leaders – four women and a man, ranging in age from 46 to 65 – were arrested.
Germany’s newspaper,Bild, said police investigation conducted with Portuguese authorities and Europol, revealed that no fewer than 70 men were brought in illegally through arranged marriages with Portuguese women.
According to the police, Europol, the European Union’s law enforcement agency, served as the host for operational meetings between the Portuguese and German investigators.
Clients had paid up to €13,000 for fake certificates, with part of the sum going to women who would fly from Portugal to join their “husbands” at the German immigration office to apply for an EU residency permit.
Similar cases were detected in June when the police found out that more than 700 German men in Berlin had married pregnant asylum seekers for money.

Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a former aviation minister, has written Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), about 24 hours after the latter’s supporters clashed with security operatives.

In the letter, Fani-Kayode noted that the alleged invasion of Kanu’s home was meant to silence the chief agitator, but that those who reportedly planned it do not understand that it would only increase the crisis.

He urged Kanu to remain steadfast in his agitation and not be discourage in spite of efforts to intimidate him.

He however urged the IPOB leader to operate peacefully and reject the idea of an armed struggle since he represents the hope and aspiration of millions.

A WORD TO NNAMDI

To the Lion of the East, my friend and brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, I have the following to say. They attacked your home and raided your community with their soldiers.

They sought to crush your body, spirit and soul, to break you and to kill the gallant and fighting spirit of your people.

They forgot that the application and unleashing of fire cannot put out fire: it only adds to the rage of the inferno and causes it to spread and develop into a massive and uncontrollable conflagration which will ultimately consumme the entire nation.

Despite the provocation and the brazen attempt to intimidate you and yours I urge you to be encouraged, to remain true to your noble convictions, to stand firm, to stay strong, to remain peaceful and to continue to reject the idea of an armed struggle knowing that you represent the hope and aspiration of millions.

This is all the more so because the entire world is watching. Our victory will not come by the levying war, the shedding of blood or by the usage and espousal of violence and armed conflict but rather through the painful veil and fiery furnace of suffering, passive resistance, self-denial, dedication, persecution and sacrifice.

Those that seek to oppress and subjugate the righteous, that seek to enslave their fellow human beings in perpetuity, that seek to destroy, torment and humiliate others, that seek to deny the sons and daughters of our land the right to fully exercise their God-given liberty and freedom and that rule by the force of tyranny, injustice and the shedding of blood never end well and shall not prevail.

In truth there is no greater crime than to unleash a nation's Armed Forces against its own people in an attempt to stamp out free speech, silence opposing voices and eliminate dissent.

It happened to the Shiite Muslims of Zaria where one thousand innocent souls were butchered in one afternoon at the behest of military commanders simply for being different and now it is happening to the good people of the east.

Yet the light of truth and the struggle for liberation, justice and equity can never be diminished or defeated. In the end the will of the people and the counsel and purpose of God shall stand.

No matter the price and no matter how long it takes, in the end we shall prevail. The Lord be with you.
