Enter Ubuntu Christian Edition: http://www.christianubuntu.com/

Q: Is Ubuntu Christian Edition designed for Protestants or Catholics?

A: Both! Ubuntu Christian Edition will always try to cater to the needs of all Christian denominations.

So what is it that makes Christian Ubuntu so, shall we say, divine (pun intended)? Erm,

Along with the standard Ubuntu applications, Ubuntu Christian Edition includes the best available Christian software. The initial release contains GnomeSword, a top of the line Bible study program for Linux based on the Sword Project. Future releases will contain even more great Christian software.

GnomeSword Bible study program. First of all, what a belligerent name for such a peaceful piece of software. Is there a hidden message here, I thought we were done with the Crusades? You can learn all about it here: http://gnomesword.sourceforge.net/about.php Note that the screenshots are so crappy, apparently the authors don't pay much attention to how they present the Ubuntu Christian Edition flagship software product. . .

Anyway, that's the only discernible difference, one application. And, of course, you get your branded Ubuntu, branded with your FAVORITE RELIGION!!!

What if you require an Ubuntu that has support for Buddhism? Well, maybe you can submit a bug report and they may consider that in their next release.

Meanwhile, here are some more great [pure] Christian resources:

http://www.qualitychristianwebhosting.com/

And finally, if you're fed up with these religious nuts altogether, how about you join me in a protest against religious zealotry by pouring your heart out to root@religion.com?

You are free to use the the distro or not to use it. No one's forcing you to use it.

why are u making a mountain out of a molehill? it's called christian ubuntu for a reason. it's got software on it and planned for it that is christian-centered. i dont see what the big deal is. if anything , you're the one stirring up the pot here.
When LG came out with the islamic phone, the one that shows the direction of mecca and has Koranic passages, did anyone cry foul? it was just a phone designed to cater for the needs of several muslims.

ChristianUbuntu dont say anything inflammatory, or say stuff like 'th eonly linux fit for christains'. Instead it's tailoring some specific stuff on it for christians only. Why gripe over just its one christian feature at launch? These people aren't being paid for this. I'm surprised to see you, a self-proclaimed open source champion saying such things. These things take time.

As for the 'belligerence' part, didn't the book of revelations say somehting about jesus coming forth from Heaven with a sword in his hand? Why don't you go all out and accuse the Bible and Jesus Himself of belligerence?

Your argument lacks merit and is a blatant attempt at sowing seeds of religious crisis. I'd suggest that the Moderator of this forum applies Consequence Management to you to deter you from such malicious acts in the future. I've seen people get temp banned for less than this.
