Guys, lets see if we can get together a constructive list of Nigerian Restuarnts/take away joints in London,
Let me start.

Presidential Suya Spot- Old Kent Road
- large portions
- good choice of soups
- closest suya I have had to the home stuff but quite expensive
- only downside is that I've had food poisinging twice from here


D'Den -Kilburn High Street
- Most go there to hang out with friends rather than for the food but
- had the fish pepper soup from there which was wonderful
- small but nice


Oasis- Cricklewood Broadway
- Also do food from Ghana


4-t-4 - 44 Camberwell Grove
- very nice staff
- clean place
- I find their soups quite oily and portions small
- good for fast/cheap food

CANNAN- Walworth Road
- First time last night
- £10 for Edking Kinkong with pounded yam
- new place so fresh and clean
- they are from Calabar so specialise in their foods



Obalande Suya Spot - Peckham High Road
- I think their attempt at suya is really awful
- great Moi moi though

Presidential suya is da bomb for sure.  and it really is close in flavor to the ones back home. and yeah, pretty expensive too, but very tasty. yumm!!

what about mama calabar in wembley

it used to be in hendon, opposite the hendon station(not right opposite and they moved)
well the have really lovely nigerian meals, like all nigerian meal in this country its not very cheap, takes absolute ages to cook. think they start going to buy the ingredients and stuff after u order, phone them first and order if in a hurry. give them at least 40mins, but i tell u when u get the food, u go lick mouth, finger and everything.
if there's any left, they pack it for u to take home( they've been known to top it up for u for free. good service and atmosphere

Are you taking public transport?

If so, get BUS 38 to Dalston, get off at the last stop on Balls Pond Rd, turn left into Kingsland High Rd. Walk past Kingsland train station, the next turning on the left is Bradbury St.

There is one Naija restaurant around Deptford, I've 4gotten the name.
But i prefer the one at Old kent road.
My worse problem is i dont wanna know their name, the food na my concern.
If one be Mama or baba Calabar no be my concern, is the food sweet? Na the thing i wan knowbe dat.

Theres a place in Peckam Rye, where the Banga soup na Die ! aptly called Delta Tavern, its the real deal, authentic without substitute.
Top it all the company is real good, its almost the Warri and Sapele forum if you like that sort of thing, with humour for free.

my husband has been in london for almost ayear now and everyday he calls, it's always one complain or the other on food. he said, he doersn't know where they sell nigerian food, i mean restuarants.

island buka in deptford high street
very nice food all round but the porridge and efo riro is their speciality, they are the best i have had so far in the south east

their food is ok but not all that,if you like the nigerian ewa agoyin with the authentic stew then u have to try tastey's is the closest to the real thing i v had,they serve with fish

aristocrat in camberwell
only go there for the sunday buffet which is really nice and they diced fried meat in stew which is really awesome,the ambience is really cool as well,not been their in ages tho

towards end of kilburn rd,after edgeware(not very sure)opposite the hotel
only had white rice and efo riro which was really good,the atmosphere s nice as well and service top notch

Aristocrat @ Camberwell is no more operating. The location has been sold to private property developers. They changed their name to Finch's a long time ago and was owned by the same person who owned the erstwhile Calabar Kitchen @ Camberwell

r u kiddingso where r they now, i was planning to visit the restaurant this sunday when im in london for that buffet especially the fried rice and diced meat in sauce

None around New Cross (except for one I normally see on the New Cross Rd towards Lewisham-fogotten the name).

Anyway, your best bet would be 805 Old Kent Rd, its just round the corner from New Cross or Tomi's Kitchen @ 126 Deptford High Street (just after New Cross)

LondonCool i live in new cross. The Nigerian Restaurant in Lewisham way is called 2001 its at 201 Lewisham way bu lucas road, you can't miss it coz pizza hut is right next door to it. Theres another one at 136 New Cross Road called De Lords Kitchen u can't miss it coz theres a bus stop right in front of the place. And theres one in Bavaria road off clifton rise hill, its on your left when walking down clifton rise. I don't know the name but u can't miss it, they specailise in making food for partys weddings etc

Yup that's why i love 805! That fish is so good. The sauce is good as well. I like getting mine with fried yam.
